Come all ye broken -hearted message board posters.

Ever been misunderstood?
Ever been called a name?
Ever had an opinion expressed that differed from yours?
Ever began a thread that went off topic?

Ever had the Administrator go against you?

This is the place for you.
Let's explore it for ever and ever. Message Board Recovery 588578

Well, since you asked ...I think it was weird that some dude who sells SEO services and has no apparent ties with authors, editors or New York publishers wrote an authoritative article about how New York publishing works. I think it was even weirder when I questioned what his cred was for writing that article, and he stomped off in a rage, with another poster here telling me it was due to my NIT PICKING. lmao. Weirder yet, when a plaintive "Come back, please, we want to learn from you!" thread was posted.

Ah well, people are strange. Smile

Some of us thought it was strange that a person who will not furnish any info about themselves was questioning the credibility of someone else, especially since the other person had given a name, website, etc.

Some of us thought it was strange that some of you thought it was strange that some of us read a website and strangely couldn't find any mention of being part of the NY publishing scene.
How strange it is!

I am confused. The last I saw of you, you were worrying about being hung. I am glad that did not happen.

You were very wise to fret it though--the things we worry about rarely come to pass.

I like it here and want to stay. I do get misunderstood at times. Sarcasm is not easy to express in writing. I get accused of taking myself too seriously when I think I'm being hilariously funny, and other times I get accused of taking threads off topic when I'm just making comparisons and seeing connections that seem totally rational to me, but nobody else gets. I get confused when some people take one attitude on another forum and a completely different one when they come here; I can't figure out which is real. But it's all good. Just let me read and post my middle-of-the-road drivel, and I'm a happy camper.

Do the beds have Magic Fingers? Those metal boxes where you drop in a quarter and the bed shakes for three minutes?

They were the highlight of my childhood vacations!

Someone said I might be a criminal; didn't like that very much.

Someone else intimated I was judgmental; how could I possibly be pleased with that.

Someone else said if I couldn't take the hot water to stay out, or words to that effect.

Someone else said I was unkind to a poster -

Okay, I guess I'm recovered. Thanks for the opportunity.

A long time ago I started a thread that went so far off topic and became so heated off topic that it was locked. Funny thing; I can't remember the subject for the life of me but was sure sorry the thread I started ended the way it did.

I think that thoroughly cleaned house. :-)

In my opinion I think I am being constantly being misunderstood by the administrator. Or is it that I misunderstand her? Our humors seem to be at opposite ends. Oh, my! Now I am totally confused!

Dry lecture Number 1

The first step in recovery is forgetting.

I have forgotten how to forget, but have been told it is a great concept.

I once knew how to forget but then forgot what I was supposed to remember --it freaked me out so badly that I can't forget anything anymore.

Sue, I love your humour and sense of fun. Sometimes you ask for a serious answer but it isn't the answer you expect to hear. I can only give honest replies, especially to serious questions. The important thing is that I like everyone here. No exceptions.

Alice seems to understand both me and Lane (although we are very different).

DK, I unlocked that thread weeks ago if you can find it.

Misunderstood? Constantly. A lot of times by myself. Mostly by people who don't read into my words what I wrote into them.

Called a name? Lost count. Usually I'm better at it than they are, so it doesn't last all that long.

Difference of opinion? Well, duh. If we all thought alike, there'd be no reason for the rest of you to be here.

Off topic thread? Everyone has. Most of mine go off topic after my initial post. See that thing about being misunderstood.

Administrator against me? Perish the thought. Shelagh and I always see eye to eye. Well, not always maybe. Most, part, well, now and then anyway. I don't understand her humor, she doesn't understand mine, and never the twain shall meet.

As a world-class antagonist I am seldom misunderstood. When I insult someone or something I hope my message is comprehended.
I have been called many names and appreciated them all. My favorite was, "Stogeyhill, you're a dirty rat."
All my opinions arouse disagreement.
Administrators always disagree with me. My favorite came from a college dean: "That's the trouble with you city slickers. . ." My next was from a managing editor: "This is not something they would teach in a civics class."
The greatest joy in life comes from antagonizing a large number of people with a single sentence.
I was and still am a little irritated when I wrote a piece explaining that I had not graduated from high school and therefore would not be attending a class reunion. When I began by writing, "I have no class. . ." everyone in town agreed.

Welcome, I can't believe it. Phil Shelagh annd Marie are all here. I am greatly honored.

You must have come in during the night when Betty and I were digging.

i recalled that patients like fish so Betty and I dug around your rooms as you slept, then I nstalled coral gardens and fish. We reroofed each room with grass and tah dah you are in overwater bungalows.

That Betty is a worker-- I am whacked. My back is in spasms.

Never mind--for your pleasure I have a chunck of dark chocolate
along with your favorite coffee awaitng you --simply open your front door.

I am thinking about your complaints and have decided the best approach is to draw them from a hat.

We will begin after breakast.
