| Seriously! I've been on message boards for a long time and have seen more, and better, drama on them than anything the Lifetime channel offers. I've often thought of writing a novel based on the AOL board I posted on for so long. Except I can't decide which way to take it -in a "And Ladies of the Club" direction? -a "Joy Luck Club" direction? So I end up writing another textbook instead.
I think a message board novel would have great potential, though. Maybe even more than a Holocaust book, lol. |

| Yep. And even "Twitterature".
There's a really cool novel being written on FaceBook. The characters all have accounts and contribute to it. |

| I don't mean a crowdsource project that everyone contributes to, if that's what the Facebook thing is. I mean written by one person, with a message board relationships and drama being the topic. Does such a book already exist? |

| No, if you read it again, you'll notice it says the CHARACTERS are accounts. All written by one person. It's not about message boards. I think there was a novel of posts done like five years ago though. I'm sure there are several in Japan. |

| I think Tory Lynn has an Amazon Short titled Message Board Romance. Quite a good story, too.

I read it again. Still didn't make sense. Your correction did, though. |

| Actually the fact that the characters ARE accounts is more meaningful. Characters don't really exist and therefore can't really have things. But understanding is all relative. |

| Joe -I am pitching another textbook to an editor this Tuesday. If it falls flat, maybe I'll try the novel. Or maybe I'll try the novel after this text. Lin -I know an author who has a Facebook and other web pages for his characters. So yeah, I guess you could say those characters have things. LOL |

| Or, since their only existence is that account, I guess they are things to. Now you've got me all confused. |

| I actually tried to start a message board book a couple of years ago based upon replies to my posts on many different forums. It quickly became unwieldy and the topics turned out to be very current and didn't age well. |

| Dt, you like to do extremely topical novels, though; Katrina, TARP, Obama. Something with a longer shelf-life might work. I just have to figure out how. |
