What exactly do you do to uphold writers?
You criticize and put-down!
Is there any wirter here whose book you have purchased read and enjoyed?
Very curious. Not sure what the relevance is. Are you saying that if someone puts their book up for public review and the self-written synopsis is filled with grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors, I shouldn't question if the book is similar, or why the author thinks people should spend money on it? Lin -what is that picture?? |

| LC has their opinion but the book that LC keeps mentioning is only one of my books and I take it that the one they are refferring to is A Winter Journey. Only one thing, that was not the one that was on the Big Book Gab. The one that was on the Big Gab was Bublos, a different book. Though I a grateful that you showed such an interest in my writing that you went to look up what I have written, you should have really check to see which book I was discussing. And as far as I am aware there is no errors in the blurb on the back of that, maybe I am wrong and you can point out my error. As for A Winter Journey I do wish to correct the errors that are present in that book at some point, I am just unsure when that will be. |

People read for different reasons. If I like and admire someone, I will read and try to enjoy their book. Well, but ads aren't addressed to just likers and admirers. They're addressed to the general public. Are you saying that the general public shouldn't question anything? And I agree that argot and slang has its place in writing. Are you saying that the misspellings, run-on sentences, etc., that I questioned were deliberate? Or that I should have assumed they were deliberate? Or that I shouldn't have assumed the book was a finished product, but rather a WIP awaiting editing? |

| I am not a fellow writer on the a3 -whatever blog, which is where I discovered the link to Billy's other work. I never followed his links when they were posted just here, nor commented on them.
I am not here to "support fellow authors." I don't even know what that means -giving false praise? I am here to read, converse, give my opinion and receive opinions like everyone else.
And I don't perceive myself as "tearing down his work." I questioned the visible problems of a work being presented as finished. To you that means "tearing down." I can't help your perceptions. I've noticed that nobody has ever commented on his work either way before. Why is that?
And you have no reason to listen to me at all. |

| And I am happy to hear your views on my work, for you are not the first to tell me that A Winter Journey needs more work. But you do seem to concentrate on that one book and that one alone. This alone makes me wonder if there is not merit in what Alice is saying. I hope that I am wrong and you are mearly trying to improve my future writing. |

| Billy, I never gave any view of your work. I questioned a synopsis. Do you understand the difference?
I have only mentioned A Winter Journey because that's the only one I looked at. I'm not interested enough to look at your other work. I am not trying to bash you OR improve your writing. I asked some questions. Which, apparently, I'm not supposed to do.
I ask them here because where else should I ask them? Unlike you, I won't particpate on the aw blog, as it has been a source of distress to some here, due to its severe and prolonged mocking of PA's admin and posters. You apparently have no problem with that. Alice apparently has no problem with you having no problem.
But I'm not either of you. If you don't like my posts, don't read them. |

| Alice -I would LMAO at the first one, seriously. And I'd be indifferent to the second. My non-fic book has some terrible reviews on Amazon. Oh well. Can't please everyone. |

| You are correct that I made errors in that book. And they are something I would like to fix at a later date. If I had the money I would have an editor to fix errors such as you saw.Unfortunately I don't so must do my own editing which is a skill I am not that great at but I do try hard to find all the mistakes in my writing. I think sometimes as writers we get a bit defensive over our work. You have a good question and the simple asnwer is I am not a good editor. |

| Here's what you're also not good at, Billy. You can't tell when people are using you for their own agenda.
Quit being Charlie Gordon to your "friends' " Donner's Bakery. |

| I may not be the brightest spark in the box but I don't see how reading or commenting on a blog makes me dim. Or how I am being disloyal to anyone here. Maybe you could enlighten me?

| LC, the blog is boring but Billy deserves an explanation. When Chris Turkel joined this forum, I knew nothing at all about him. I have learned a great deal from other members of the forum. On other forums, they have had extremely heated arguments and find his odd behaviour difficult to tolerate. I don't. I know that he uses numerous aliases and he is extremely unreliable. However, my attitude to anyone on the 'net is to accept them despite not getting to know them very well. That way, when someone asks me to delete close to 2,500 posts when I asked about cancelling an account, I'm not disappointed if that person behaves badly and turns against me. People who previously behaved well on the 'net may turn out to be just as untrustworthy as those who behave badly.
I think Billy takes the same attitude. However, I agree with you that he is being used. A group of people are using each other and, if Billy wants to be part of that group, then I would not dissuade him.
I have been judged by this group of people on their terms, but I'm nothing like them. They don't see it. They don't see me. They see what they want to see. |

| I am not against anyone. I come to this forum because it offers me a diversion when I am writing. I also come because there is usually a very good atmosphere and some interesting conversations. This does not mean this is the only forum that I go to, I am a member of a few. It also doesn't mean that I agree with everyone here all of the time, but in general I do enjoy the flow of conversation. I look at the blog that has caused some here bad feeling, because it is entertaining. I put my book, Bublos up for the Book Gab as it gives it sightly more exposure. I do not agree always with what is said on the blog but that doesn't mean I have always disagreed with the points it has raised. Some here do seem to think that you should show your credentials when you post your opinion, I don't. In the end though this is Shelagh's forum, she is in charge and it is for her to decide what goes and what does not. As a member I have to abide by what she says on the forum. Outside of the forum I can do as I wish and I don't think that Shelagh would disagree with that. |
