I responded to this comment, Billy, not the emoticons. You check the blog for a giggle, I check it to see how many more threads and posts have been stolen from the forum. What you think is a laugh, I think is a serious breach of ownership. The comments you find amusing on the blog are of no interest to me. Taking whole threads is theft. That is of concern to me.

Only threads from the public side of the forum have been copied, which in my understanding is not against the law. As I understand copyright law you can not copyright posts from a public board and this is why you made the WIP section private, to prevent someone copying others work from there, as you did with this thread. Granted you don't want to see bad things said about this site and you wish to lash out because you feel unappreciated after all the work you have put into this site. Charlie, she made this forum private because the blogger was copying and mocking the people here, a form of intimidation that also causes people to stop posting. The blogger has also openly called her a liar, fraud, etc., terms that show up linked to a google of her name. Obviously you find this something to "giggle" about.

I suggest that if you want a giggle, look at the macaroni-and-glue art that you call your "books."

The blogger isn't right. It isn't Shelagh who has done this. It is the blogger. I have always enjoyed your posts, Billy, but lately, from my admittedly limited perspective, you seem to be playing two sides of the street.

Those posts on the copied threads belong to the members who made the posts. Copying those posts is the same as copying anything from your website without your permission.

The WIP board is private so that only members can offer a critique. If non-members want to critique works in progress on the forum, they have to become a member of the forum. This does not affect the rights of the authors to claim the work as their own.

I do not feel the need to lash out and I am not insecure about being appreciated. The Published Authors Fan Page on Facebook has 655 fans:

The blogger group of critics amount to a handful of discontents (as opposed to 655 fans!).

Nothing that happens on this forum will affect the work I have done on the Published Authors Network, which will continue to grow irrespective of anything that goes on here.

Defending the forum does not prove that the blogger is right to attack the forum. Whoever the blogger is, I have not attacked him/her.

I will make every effort to rise above it.

Yes, I fed information to the blogger but it only worked temporarily. When I stopped feeding information, he registered a false account, The Joker, so that he could copy and paste from the private board onto the public boards, and then used those posts on the blog.

Whether I appear in a good light or not depends on the criteria being used to judge me. While you think that I have done less than I should have done to protect the forum and the posts on the forum, keep in mind that, as your publisher (Mandinam Press), I would do the same to protect your work.

They have never to my knowledge used anything in the private boards, only the public ones and as I said I do check in to read the blog. Who ever set it up did it for the reason of creating unrest within this forum and for the shits and giggles. They seem to have achieved that with ease, surprisingly. I also see why this thread was moved now.

Billy, your assumption is incorrect. Chris Turkel and Southern Gal (I think that was her name; Dick warned me about her) destroyed the Author Society forum. The forum administrator who set up the forum you joined recently, was a moderator of the Author Society. She allowed far more insults to be thrown around than I tolerate here, deleted far more threads and allowed brutal arguments that caused lasting harm.

If you think that the blogger is just having a laugh, it is because of me. I kept the blogger off the forum and did not allow the threads here to flame and spiral out of control. He responded by trying to make a joke out of the whole thing. You obviously missed "The Joker" but you can see what he did here:

That doesn't prove they were the blogger, rather it shows that they were here because of the blog and wished to add to the controversy and infighting. Stop looking for who the blogger is, who is spying for them and continue to work on the things that you have built up. Chris always seem fine with me and I never met S. Gal so can't comment on them. I always stayed out of discussions between Lin and Chris as I could tell there was history but did step in once when E Don was in a heated conversation with Chris but stepped back when I made a slip in reading the posts. I promptly made my apologies to those concerned but never did I see any Mod or Admin step in. That was fine by me as you knew these people better than I did, so you know what limits to set.

I agree with you, Billy,the identity of the blogger isn't important. The spying doesn't matter, either. They wanted to put the blame on you. They wanted me to turn against you. But I'm not against you.

Billy, A blog about a forum could be fine. But, the way that Shelagh and others have been vilified on that blog is a disgrace and goes way beyond what a writer’s thick skin should have to endure. I don’t think they should have to defend themselves here. Why do you expect the victims to have to explain themselves?
