| This thread is to be used for any comment of a positive nature. A thread where one can find encouragement. It doesn't have to be a quote by someone famous. Your life experiences have given you bits of wisdom that you may wish to share. It may be something good that happend to you with your books, your writing or simply something you experienced that made a difference in your life.
You have no idea how much I have been helped/encouraged by comments made by members on this forum. I appreciate the comraderie and friendship. |

| It is said that wisdom comes with age. The positive thing about that is that I can attribute the stupid things I do, as still being young. |

Abe:
The positive I've learned since I was published five years ago at a late age of 57 , first meeting so many authors especially people here, Shelagh has shown me so many things about publishing at the time I didn't even know what a PDF was or a JPG, but with her wisdom and guidance I grew confident. The many others here whose books I've read and felt inspiration by their stories and the many other PA authors whose stories I felt were #1 hits. The confidence I gained through encouragement through other authors, I shall never forget. To me it's about people helping people with knowledge. I have grown and now trying to finish my 2nd murder mystery knowing I will succeed. To all my friends here I thank you...
Cheers..Joe |

| I am so glad I wrote a book. It brought me far more than fame or fortune. It brought friends, good friends. Thank you, Al!
Betty, I too, wish Carol was here. |

| When a group of people tried to destroy this forum, I had to make quite a number of decisions. At the time, I didn't know how things would work out. Pleasingly, the forum survived and the members who remained seem to be more content and appreciative of one another. The members who left have gone their separate ways and are no longer part of a recognised group. I hope their decision to leave has worked out as well for them as it did for the members who stayed.
Interestingly, at the time that the forum was under attack, one of the admin staff on Wikipedia decided to delete my page and the Mandinam Press page -- but they have both survived. Here on the full wiki website:
http://www.thefullwiki.org/Shelagh_Watkins
and on enotes:
http://www.enotes.com/topic/Shelagh_Watkins
http://www.enotes.com/topic/Mandinam_Press
Which just goes to show that, even when people try to knock us, we can always bounce back. |

| I am old fashioned - but it comes from a very unique source. My perspective is forward from my origins. I do not live for today - I live my life so it encompases everything that I have ever done, or ever dreamed of.
So it includes the pollywog ponds where I captured crawdads, high school and friends, college, military service, meeting and marrying my wife Patty - the kids and water skiing, teaching and working, retirement and all the Christmases. Every day I live my live in its entirety! James / |

| I imagine that living takes the ability to be unconcious some of the time. To be positive one has to ignore the negative. In that way, positive thinking wins. It alters the chemicals in the brain and warms the eyeballs. Smiling works the same way. "Let a smile be your umbrella" or "smile and the world smiles with you"..all good adages that improve your view from your own eyeballs. Frontal lobotomy works, but you do not get to enjoy the view half as much. Love, Betty |

| Last night the neighbors behind me had a real shindig. Their home was built by the subdivision so the pool is within five feet of my lot line. So, it all carried into my house, right up until midnight.
What carried was happy voices calling to each other, children laughing in the pool, music playing, singing - the air was full of happy sounds that reverberated through my yard and my house. I finally (unwillingly) closed my windows when the fireworks started because of the sulfur in the air.
Joy is contagious. Though there was no party in my night, I felt their joy and camaraderie and smiled all evening.
One street over, a house with two lots built a stage on one lot. They have big parties there on Saturday night but abide by the 11:00 p.m. noise curfews. I used to ride my bike over to watch the little boys and girls dancing on the stage in their petticoat dresses and the boys in cowboy hats and boots. The men were all dolled up in their sombrero hats, fancy boots and jackets playing their guitars and singing while dancing and food was all around. It was fun to see them enjoying life so very much in spite of many hardships they had likely endured.
My friends are quiet and subdued in general, sophisticated. We go dancing and out to eat and sometimes have a good laugh; but in general, we are a quiet bunch. |

| I wrote this poem today
Almost twenty years ago I ran away with a girl, Homeless and hungry, she was my world. Determined and scared we were just kids, Trying to get away from the life that we lived. We had already spent our lives on the road, The road was nothing new but where should we go?
We lived on the road for many more years, Our life was full of struggles and tears. With worries and doubts and dreams in our hearts, All we ever wanted was a good start. Nothing came easy but we never gave up, She was always by my side this girl that I love.
Many mistakes have been made since we ran away, But the best decision I have ever made was when we left that day. If I wrote a story about my life, I would tell you for almost twenty years Tonya's been my wife. If i wrote a song about my life with my wife, It would be a love song twenty years long... |

They're probably boring each other on Facebook. |

| I try to have some connection to reality in any fantasy. I find that helps people to take it down easier. My positive thoughts to anyone reading this is: try to bounce your things around among other friends around you. If they like your stuff, the chances are everyone else will too.. |
