I posted a new avatar again, one more picture of me at the book signing we had in Springfield, Tennessee for The Last of the South Town Rinky Dinks book.

The folks behind me are Chris Brown, one of the more successful realtors in Robertson County for many years, and Jerome Ellis, teacher and long time Superintendent of Schools in Robertson County.

We all graduated together in the class of 1959, and all three of us lived on the south side of town, which made us Rinky Dinks.

Shows that bad names and titles do not necessarily hold anyone back, if they have the drive and desire to make something of themselves.

Class of '59 Don? Me too. I've only been to one high school reunion but I was thinking of going to this one because it is the 50th.

I probably won't go though. It is really hard to get to Trenton, Missouri from Brookings, Oregon.

I know what you mean Phil. It's not quite as bad getting back to Tennessee from here in Florida, but it's still a tiring trip.

I talked to some folks back home and I'm not sure if we're even going to have a 50th reunion. Seems the trend now is to combine years with some other classes, and that could mean that ours will be put off for a while.

I'd been wanting to go, because to me 50 years is a milestone, but the folks back home have to do all of the work, and I can understand how big a job it is.

I once wrote a column saying I have no class so a guy I knew invited me to his class reunion. It was one of the funniest experiences I have had. A woman got up, gave her name and said, "I have a daughter and two grandchildren. The next had two children and four grandchildren. The third had three children and seven grandchildren. On and on it went as each tried to outdo the others.
When it was the men's turn they did the same thing, but it was the number of acres in their farm or the size of their herd of cows.
I had to fight to keep from laughing aloud.

Dear Dick,
At least they were all proud of their production or reproduction, as the case may have been.
