| There are some places where the person is all that matters - really. My dad was a musician and their respect for each other's talent was what mattered. When we were blue water sailing, even a person's past experiences were lost to what mattered - ability to sail. It should be that way everywhere. |

| The slave record here in America is sketchy at best in its recording. In fact when a photo of two slave children was recently discovered it caused a sensation because something like that had not been seen before. These two boys are unknown to history and no one knows who they were or what happened to them. It is a haunting image. The loss of identity and history was one of the greatest tragedies. |

| Domenic,
I highly doubt whoever wrote on your link had his family disrupted by slavery.
Have a heart. |

| I am referrring to the disruption of families. Husbands and wives were separated They were sold and never saw each other again.
I can't think of anything worse. |

| The statistics on good and bad people would probably weigh heavier on good. The bad are just so heinous.
Each man's (women included) burden is his own. My trauma is my own to carry and no one can tell me whether it is heavy or light because it is mine.
To tell me others have burdens does not lighten my load. I may empathize, but my burden is still my own. I do not fully understand theirs or vice versa. |

| Anyone read what's happening with China and Africa nowadays? The Chinese seem to be taking the European colonizers' place, only they're even worse.
Just sayin', because as far as I'm concerned, the topics discussed here get no one anywhere. No one's changing the past and some people need to take ownership of the present. The future? The Chinese are the new colonizers, and what's coming out of them isn't pretty. |

| I am politically active and hope to make a small difference. The discussions here help me know my adversaries and the facts needed to combat ignorance. |
