I'm posting this summery of my novel, Of Orbs and Lords, for all who may be interested in my work. Please take the time to read through it and if you like it, I hope you'll consider purchasing a copy of the book. Of orbs and Lords is available from most major online booksellers and now for the summary.
A young explorer named Xeoromir discovers a mysterious purple crystal sphere while exploring the abandoned sea-bound city of Jarronal. When he touches the sphere, a mark in the shape of an A with arrows beneath it is burned into his hand. When he returns to shore, an old antiquities dealer named Arcadivo informs him of the sphere's connection to the evil Lord Aniitron. It is decided that the orb must be taken secretly to Lord Exxcelcis, the king of Eptannia. The next day, Xeoromir and Immahyr, the son of Arcadivo set out on the 1500-mile journey to the hall of Lord Exxcelcis. They travel via the old road in order to avoid being seen and almost loose their way several times, but after many weeks, they finally arrive at the hall of Lord Exxcelcis. After meeting with Lord Exxcelcis, it is decided that the sphere should be returned to the deep halls below the earth from which it came in order to prevent Lord Aniitron from reclaiming it and the power to conquer all of Eptannia. Lord Exxcelcis takes Xeoromir and Immahyr to one of the entrances to the world below and gives them an ever-burning torch, which will never go out. Along the way, Xeoromir and Immahyr encounter many obstacles, including a flooded stairwell, which they are able to pass after Immahyr dives in and discovers how to open the gate that holds the water back. Other obstacles along the way include a dragon, which Xeoromir kills with his titanium sword and brick walls they must break through. They find what they are looking for in the third deep hall and reattach the orb to its scepter.
A ghost lord appears and he together with Xeoromir and Immahyr set out on an expedition on to defeat Lord Aniitron forever. The ghost uses a magical liquid to make Xeoromir and Immahyr invisible and uses a special trumpet to summon legions of ghostly warriors. Lord Aniitron is stripped of his immortality charm and killed. When they return to the deep halls, the ghost gives to Xeoromir and Immahyr a reward of treasure worth ten years' wages for each of them. When Xeoromir and Immahyr return to the hall of Lord Exxcelcis, a great feast is held for them and Lord Exxcelcis gives them new carts and other valuable items. They return to their homes via the new road, which is much easier than the old road. Fifteen years later, a messenger comes to Immahyr and informs him that Lord Exxcelcis has died and named him his heir. Xeoromir is also named by Lord Exxcelcis to be the supreme commander of Eptannia's army. Immahyr sets out for the hall of Lord Exxcelcis and Xeoromir catches up to him a while later. At the hall, a coronation ceremony is held and Immahyr becomes the king of Eptannia. A few years later, Xeoromir returns to Jarronal to explore some ancient books he found there on his last expedition.
While exploring, he finds a three-inch high earth-fairy (a wingless non-magical fairy species) named Laegophlor, who he takes back with him to the hall of lord Immahyr. While on the twelfth floor of one of the towers, he spots another earth-fairy, but when he tries to capture it, the fairy runs and falls 120 feet to the sea below. The tiny earth-fairy is killed instantly by the impact, but Xeoromir has its body preserved in a block of clear resin. Along with the fairies, Xeoromir takes several books back with him to the hall of Lord Immahyr. On the way back, Laegophlor sings and dances merrily every day and Xeoromir saves him from poisoning at the hands of an unfriendly gnome. After returning to the hall of Lord Immahyr, Xeoromir takes Laegophlor to a meadow, where he releases the tiny creature. Two years later, Xeoromir goes back to Jarronal to recover more books so Lord Immahyr can establish a library of the ancient books in his hall. A few years after the library is established, Xeoromir returns to the meadow where he released Laegophlor. He calls the earth-fairy's name and is delighted to see the joyous little creature again. Later in life, Xeoromir writes a book about his adventures. Lord Immahyr reigns for 49 years during which, Eptannia experiences one of the greatest eras of peace and prosperity it ever has.
Hope you enjoyed it!!!
