My Doctor......

              Tomorrow my Dr. will be doing a dance and a jig , when he finds out
              I haven't smoked a cigarette in 68 days ! I haven't used the patch 
              in 15 days because it was affecting my breathing so I decided to do
              it on my own and yes I'm succeeding and proud of it...Now if I can 
              only control the craving for food but I've been eating the same so I
              try to control me ......

EXCELLENT Joe. Keep it up! I know how hard it is to quit, and how necessary. Please stay focused. If your cravings get bad, try good alternatives like sugarless gum, celery sticks, carrots, and fresh fruits. Stay with it.  the worst should be behind you if you're completely nicotine free for two weeks. Use nicotine gum if you can't resist the urge, but stay away from the cigarettes. Drink tea, coffee, take walks, paint, take beautiful photographs--all things you will do much longer without cigarettes. I'm pulling for you!

You give me hope for my son.  Congratulations on your success.  My stepdad had a dish of sugar free lemon drops that he liked during the transition. There was something useful about unwrapping them too.  He added  years to his life that were quality years.

Good work, Joe.  Your lungs will thank you.

                 Everyone here " THANK YOU !," it makes me feel great that everyone pulls
            for you. I usually will suck on mints, sometimes I love pretzels or chocolate 
            double chocolate cookies.....

                          " Thank You !"  I hate to admit this but I was smoking since
                I was a teenager 50 Yrs. My Dr. said I was lucky I didn't get cancer
                but got COPD which I'm taking care of and since I have quit my breathing
                level has gone from 82 to 95 I know it should read a 100 but one thing at a
                time I have a Finger Breathing Device it tells you your oxygen level and your
                pulse rate I check it three times a day. I'm also proud as a friend brought to
                my attention when we've been around town that I don't take breaks anymore,
                last Sunday walked around town for 3.5 hrs in the old days I would have had 
                to sit and take a break because of lack of oxygen....." YES I CAN !!" Right now
                my pulse rate 70 , oxygen level 93

93-95 % 02 is excellent, especially with COPD. That's a good sign. I used TicTacs--very low calories but strong. I used to breathe in the mint for that menthol-like feel. Whatever works for you, keep that body healthy. You're a good egg and we'd like to keep you around.

                                You are funny ! Count Alucard was the name used in a 1940's 
          Lon Chaney horror film titled: The Son Of Dracula," so the producers came up
          with his name spelled backwards clever..

                  My Dr. said I was doing okay except the blood pressure was slightly high
             so he wants me to raise my Lisprinol which is a beta blocker from 10Mg. to 
             20 Mg. other wise he wanted to know how come at 66 I don't have wrinkles
             and he at 53 does, I said we'll I don't lay out in the sun and it's a well known
             fact if you have light eyes and light skin your not suppose to lay out there and
             bake like a chicken...
