I tried to leave a comment but it went "poof." I use this forum as a a means to challenge my thinking and writing skills in general. I haven't found a critique group that works for me. However, in the past I attended Toastmasters and found their disciplined approach was a great help to my already polished public speaking. It took me beyond my comfort zone - taking me to humor for an example.

I'm in a very good critique group now. They get into the meat of writing and have really helped my strengthen my material.

I've been interested in Toastmaster but haven't found the time time to look them up. I'm sure they would be very helpful.

Glad your critique group is helpful. Toastmasters was great fun and an excellent education in the fine points of public speaking. If you speak to groups a lot, you may find it beneficial.
