| A man who is 49 now was a high school basketball player when I covered a number of his school's games back in the mid-1970s. He has written a 724 page novel, which is beyond belief to someone who prefers short stories. A newspaper review said the paperback book is available from Amazon for $29.95. Out of curiosity I looked it up. It was published by Infinity, an outfit I never heard of but will publish anyone's book for a mere $499 - unless the writer adds extras such as editing. But the book does not have a "Buy" button on Amazon. It directs a purchaser to a single bookseller who has one new copy available for $137, plus $3.99 for shipping. I can't help feel sorry for the guy. |

| My book's publisher's list price is $10.95, quite a bargain compaired with $137 and my book still has its buy (add to shopping cart) button. |

| Meanwhile Cabo Bob, the old loco, is still only 5 gringo dollars.
By next year this time, slang will be cheaper than gas. |

| It must be one hell of a book at that price. My first book was overpriced by me at nearly twenty dollars through inexprience but my new one I feel is a little better priced though I only get fourteen pence per sale outside of Lulu. Mind you though I have to get sale first hehehe |

| 10.95 isn't that bad these days for online books.
My new one will go for $15.95 on amazon, 11.95 from the website store |

My new one will go for $15.95 on amazon, 11.95 from the website store My first book with PA has one reseller pricing it at $81 dollars, so now I'm directing links to PA they have reduced all their books by 25% in light of the scamazon bully boys and $27.95 is better than $34.95 |

| True. I wonder if anyone ever buys those outrageously priced books from dealers most of us never heard of? |

| I don't know about other people, but I wouldn't pay $80 or $100 or $150 to buy a book, especially a book I know very little about, from a book dealer I've never heard of. |

| Both my books are selling at $13 and $15.
But it's not the price that's the problem. It's getting the book noticed. Getting the public's interest. |

| True, a lot of people don't want to spend their money on buying a book from an author they've never heard of. Especially when shopping for fiction, most people seem to go straight for the big name authors and don't even give small time authors a second thought. |

| Infinity is a vanity press, so of course their books are over priced. Also, because of this they are one of the publishers targeted by Amazon to move to Booksurge. But that is nothing in terms of price, most academic books are priced at over $150.00 for the hardcover... strictly aimed at the research library market. |

| A friend of mine publishes a book every year. It sells for $200. It sells out every copy every year.
It's basically about how to cheat on high end tax codes. |
