The price of bad advertising. Empty
PostSubject: The price of bad advertising.   The price of bad advertising. EmptySun Sep 27, 2009 11:38 am

Mr Andrew Banner was a martial arts expert who spent many years studying all forms of the oriental self defense. Having gained qualifications of the highest degree in this field, he set up his own school of martial arts.
Wishing to advertise his classes to the local community he placed an ad in his local newspaper.
Consequently to his surprise the classes were fully booked within 24 hours of the newspaper ad being published.
After a week of classes he was inundated with complaints from the young couples who so eagerly attended his lessons. They accused him of false advertising claims, stating that his courses were something they were not and demanded their money back.
When challenged as to what it was in the advertising that led to these accusations one of the attendees produced a copy of the local news paper. There in bold print were the words New school for the Marital Arts Open. Learn the ancient techniques of the orient. Classes available evenings and weekends. It was only after he read it the second time he realised exactly why all his pupils were mostly newly wed married couples. The newspaper made a typo the i was in the wrong place and apparently so were the couples who attended these classes.
