The Rheinland/Pfalz newspaper is doing a series on foreigners who settled in Germany and this was an interview about who I am and why I decided to settle here.

Alice, I don't want to make a full translation, but the jist is this:
The heading is saying that a world traveler settled in the southern part of the State (Rheinland/Pfalz) After an eventful life, the couple, March decided to settle in Goecklingen. On the first of May it is eleven years that the 74 (should be 73) year old American and his German-born wife bought a house in Goecklingen. They have been married 51 years.

Then it goes on to say that while serving in the US Force at the base in Ramstein, I met my wife. It talks about my travels, working and living in Canada, Greece, Holland, Germany, Lebanon and various US States and what I did professionally. It indicates that I have authored several books and that one is used at the Otto-Hahn school in Landau. That I am a member of the Men's Choir, the Church Choir and sing with other choirs when needed. I help out in the vineyards and am involved with the Sports club. My comments that I feel at home here, that the landscape is similar to my home of Pennsylvania, and that I enjoy the benefits of a good healthcare program. The friendly neighbors, etc., makes Goecklingen seem like a paradise.
That's basically what it says, not necessarily in that order.

The last time I was in a German newspaper was in 1969. I was on a diving board with two German girlfriends in Butzbach at the opening of the public pool and I was terrified that we'd fall off into the deep end! The caption said to pack swimming suits, the pool was open. I think it was called the Butzbacher Zeitung.

Your life story is very interesting. At least that was one good thing about PublishAmerica; we met so many interesting people from everywhere. I miss that aspect. I miss those who are gone. Glad to see you recognized in your community. Congrats to you and your spouse.
