| So are the others, Betty. My computers are both going bonkers today, and I hadn't seen them until now.
Good work, guys.

| You know, Don, I am thinking of going through all the manuscript of the stories and changing the spelling of Wooffer to Woofer. It seems so natural. Everyone types it that way.
The kindness you all show to me is nothing ordinary. It is nothing short of beautifully kind, loving and wonderful. You are all one of a kind. Love, Betty |

| Bets, I'm going to watch DWTS and then try to get some badly needed rest. But for you, I'll fix it anyway you want it. Just have to be tomorrow. And I'll send it to you someway.
You're Wooffer are too good not to be out there in a lot of formats, and I think they need to be read by a lot of kids, cause they're just what the doctor ordered. |

| Wooffer stories are special in the empathy and emotions they evoke.
I like the Dusty cover better - just need to see the writing clearer. |

| Dusty's type fonts need to be outlines or 3-d's or something to make them stand out...I like the color, but it doesn't show good at the top - sort of blends in. |

| Don's suggestion of "A Tale of Wooffer's Woods" is now the official title of the series. Here is the cover for Larry, Curley & Moe. I love public domain photos! Love, Betty |

| Thanks, Abe. When I first started this adventure to publish each story separately, I doubted the possibility that anyone would pay a dollar to read stories that short. With the encouragement of all of you, I have felt that Wooffer's stories have worth and need to be presented with flair. So, I am doing the best I can for each of the animals on this farm; to spotlight their existance and their stories. David just came in and said the "The Deer Hunter" cannot be used as a title because it was a movie title. I am not so sure. I thought that title could not be copyrighted. Someone here knows the answer. I could have added Maxwell, but I like The Deer Hunter as a title better. Any advice on this? He poked a hole in my balloon! I said that you all would know. Love, Betty

| To the best of my knowledge, you are right, and a title can't be copyrighted. I think you are free to use one, so long as it isn't one that identifies with a movie or book so closley that the title itself conveys images of the product. For instance, Gone With The Wind offers conveys not only a movie, but very vivid images of the finished product. It could be argued that using that title might be against copyright law.
However, I'm not sure The Deer Hunter would meet that criteria. I'd probably use it if it were me, but I can't advise you to do so. |

| Titles can't be copyrighted, Betty. Sometimes publishers have a problem with duplicates since a prospective buyer might get one book confused with the other. I doubt there would be any confusion in this case. Ann |

| Dear Diane, I have MS Publisher that I used for making the catalog for my wetland business. I could put photos in a page of text. I could not put words onto the pictures. I think that Shelagh knows the answer. LC and E Don do, too. I am so very ignorant of these things that it is a shear miracle that I make a cover at all. i would gladly send you my Photoshop progam disc to install on your computer.
Love, Betty |

| Thanks so much Betty; I am so glad you making your stories into single ebooks and that you have had some great help with the covers.
Covers and converting the html to ebook format have been real stoppers for me. I only have seven short stories that are from Amazon Shorts but I'd sure like to put them up as singles. I made one cover with Microsoft Works and MS paint but it was VERY difficult. It turned out okay - but that's the best I can say. Check out The Valentine at my web site to see the cover. www.dkchristi.com |

I use an old program called Print Shop. I don't know if it's still available. It doesn't do nearly as much as PhotoShop but is much easier to use Ann |
