| It's wonderful to post something positive for a change.
My audiobook copy of Wooffer's Woods arrived yesterday courtesy of Betty, one of our resident angels, who noted in one of my posts that I love audiobooks and sent me a copy of hers. I still have my Kindle copy on my laptop but still have not bought a Kindle and can't get my Pandigital tablet to accept the Kindle app. so I'm reading it a little at a time as time allows.
What a treat. Thank you, Betty! I smiled the whole one-hour trip on the L.I.E. to work this morning connecting with my inner child courtesy of your wonderful stories. I can't wait for the trip home. You trumped Killing Kennedy (a book I'm also enjoying, happily interrupted and will return to when I've listened to all of Wooffer's stories). I'll review the book in due course when I've listened to all of the stories at least once or twice. But I couldn't wait to say a public thank you to Betty for brightening my day. The stories will not only make your dogs and children very happy when read to them, but they have the exact same effect on this crotchety prof too. What a wonderful gift. Thank you Betty!
The stories are available individually for the Kindle from Amazon.com and The Tales of Wooffer's Woods are also available in a paperback and Kindle versions here: The Tales of Wooffer's Woods by Betty Fasig.
Betty: Is the audiobook version currently available for sale anywhere? If so, please tell us where. You should repackage these as a cure for existentialist despair. Works for me! |

| Alas, one of the stories made me cry. It was about an old dog that is let out of the car by its family, left alone as they drive away. The farm animals find it and take pity. They point out Woofer's house and send the dog there. The writing is just heart-breaking and it has the feel of how elderly people are treated...
That's the thing about so many of Betty's stories - they are really about people but easier to take when it's the lives of animals. |

| Agree, DK, but I think Betty's animal people tend to be a bit more humane that most human people. |

| I agree with you both. Many of the stories are fables without the "hit you over the head" moralizing. The book is a sort of reverse Animal Farm where all the animals are equal, none is more equal than any other, and there is a decidedly welcoming utopian rather than dystopian vision that I suspect is what you'd find around Betty and her home. |

| Thank you, Victor. I've been commenting on the relationship to Animal Farm since the old PAMB days. So glad to see that others see it, too. (And if you don't know what the PAMB is - don't ask. |

| :)Dear Victor, I am so happy you like my stories. I would gladly send copies to anyone who request them. I do have the cd versions on lulu, but they are so expensive that no one would want to buy them and I did try to put them on createspace but I never could get the covers right and gave it up. Maybe I will try that again. Love, Betty |

| Betty,
I hope you do try CreateSpace again. For the books, they have a cover design program that is easy to use and provides sufficient flexibility for creating reasonable covers. I hope the same is true of their CD/DVD covers. Even if you have to modify the jacket so that it does not look just like the book's, that should not be a problem. If you have a JPG version of the book cover, you may be able to use that directly. If worse comes to worse, take a digital photo of your book cover and use that, or use a different photo altogether. The Kindle, soft cover and audiobook should all show together on the Amazon page, so the covers need not be identical as long as the name of the book and audiobook match exactly.
Let us know if you do make it available on CreateSpace/Amazon. It is a book that should be shared and enjoyed even more widely. |

| Dear Victor,
It is not my book that should be shared, it is your own, Book of Dreams. You blow me away.
Love,
Betty |
