| The news people can calm down now. They seem to be getting more strident however. They are thriving now on how nobody likes the bill, Aw Phooey--almost funny! |

| Bill or no bill; the debt ceiling should have been lifted in a simple bill to raise the debt ceiling. Then the Congress needed to work for their living and iron out the plans that are best for the nation.
All the hullabaloo in the press, in the financial markets; the worry of those concerned about their paychecks -it was all a created crisis based on a political agenda, not the needs of the U.S. Citizens.
I am distressed by the whole business. I think I heard the poor dears are so exhausted by having to work a little that they are going on a five week recess. We know what that's for - propaganda time for us.
I am glad at least that the default fears have been put to rest. Hopefully the downgrade by the money people has also been stopped. |

I think it's a whole lot of " BULL !' They want to stress out the public, from what I read un-employment, food stamps and a few other programs will be on the chopping block ! We'll see in October what little nasty schemes they have up their sleeves....

| It's much like someone who stepped on you foot and shifted their weight to release the pressure, but didn't remove their foot. The threat hasn't been removed.
So, they need a vacation? Why not make it permanent? At least vacation without pay would be appropriate. In business, management does not go on vacation in a crisis. If they did, when they got back they would not have a job.
Reducing the debt can't be done overnight. Unfortunately there is no "undo" button to push that will erase the things that caused the debt. Wouldn't it be great if we could hit "undo" and erase the war in Iraq? The service men and women who lost their lives would instead be rejoing their loved ones. The billions spent on Iraq would be fueling our economy. The Republicans don't want cuts in Defense spending. How can one consider our offensive action in Iraq as defense? Iraq was no threat to our country.
Time to move on. Our representatives in government should take actions that benefit the citizens that they are elected to represent. Providing citizens with the means for survival includes conditions that create jobs. The government needs money. Then know where they can get it. The people with the money are those that were allowed to keep it by not paying taxes or their fair share. Appreciation for the freedom to conduct business is shown by paying taxes. Greed is a significant part of the problem. They want more. If you have a chicken that is laying eggs, and you want more eggs from that chicken, killing the chicken is no solution. |

| They don't care abut jobs or the economy. There is no problem--they are all right If they were to lose a dime it would be a calamity--after all they worked for their money. Too ludicrous to comprehend! |
