| 2/14/2010 Hi Everyone.. Will a 20% VAT Tax ( Value Added Tax ) help the 14 Trillion US Debt ? ( This debt was just raised) What is your opinion ? They would have to ge rid of all other taxes this way everyone would pay and no one including wealthy would get away not paying taxes. Cheers..Joe... |

| Adding tax is not the answer. It's much like people with credit cards. When the cards get loaded, they seek a new card to pay off the old ones.
The simple solution is to stop spending. I guess that's too simple. |

Abe..
Washington has an open piggy bank, they won't stop spending. Did you see an interview with I don't know how to spell his name but he ran for president once, it was on the web, his brilliant idea is in a six month window give people the chance to retire at 60 and they can get social security and those jobs would go to the un-employed , I think he's nuts ! He's trying to put a bill through congress as I write..
Cheers..Joe |

| Joe, who is going to pay the huge social security Bill that will result in all the new retired folk living on it? Short sighted politicians are dangerous. There are always hidden costs it seems. Those costs never get publicised until too late. |

| The trouble is, people affiliated with both major parties have become used to saying "government ought to do such and such" rather than just leaving the matter alone.
The odd thing is that when one party institutes a spending program, the other party never cancels it out when they come to power. So, we just keep adding more mindless programs at great expense.

I say " We should have a parlimentary System" If we don't like them , they get voted out. It seems once people get into power all they want to do is " SPEND !" ....

| They are all in politics for themselves, to get rich and famous. I don't believe I have ever seen a politician who genuinely does their job because they really care about the voting public. They get into power and greed takes over, manipulating their every descision. I know I sound untrusting and suspicious. I just wish our Queen would veto some of their crazy policies. |
