| Sometimes you don't have to come in first. Sometimes you need to just pass that finish line a few minutes behind your step-daughter's boyfriend. That is what my son did tonight after over 15 hours of swimming, biking and running in the Madison Wisconsin Ironman today. He started at seven am this morning. I'm really proud of this family member. Other family were waiting, calling on cell phones and even his little sister in Virginia stayed up for him to cross that finish line. We think he must have walked the last few miles, but nothing wrong with that. That's what we do. We cross that line, that finish line where even those who have been waiting over 15 hours are there to cheer! We never stop cheering!! Love, Carol |

| I agree Carol. Participating and finishing what one starts is an accomplishment. |

| I do have that loving family. Last night they were all in their homes thinking of their brother. Steve is ten years older than Peggy, so they did not grow up together, but that is all right. Sometimes I have regrets, those shoulds that creep into our lives, but in spite of my faults, they are good people. They never give up.
Love, Carol |
