ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION-CONGRESS WANTS TO PASS NEW LAW

Hi Everyone...

Congress wants to create a new immigration law
for 12 million illegals. I feel this is how the law should
read. Yes I know this is a hot potato, OUCH !


1. They should create a National I.D. card for all
American Citizens, wether born here or if they
are nationalized. Birth Certificates and Drivers
licenses can and are forged. European Countries
have had them for years.

2. A heavy fine for illegals who want to stay here,
$5,000- . They have to wait 5 years before they
become a resident. Then 2 more years before they
become a citizen.

3. They can't vote in any elections for 15 years.


What is your opinion ?....

My opinion is it doesn't matter what my opinion is, they'll all eventually be given amnesty. Which will encourage millions more to come over, like the last time amnesty was given.

It amazes me how congress is so
" Arrogant," they don't abide by the wishes of the
American public, maybe they should re-read our
documents, the founding fathers must be spinning
in their graves !

I do not believe in letting Illegals in the country, or stay. But...the baby boomers are ready for S.S. They need these Ilegals to pay for it.

It's a worm with two heads. There are millions who have been waiting to enter; some have been waiting for 15 years...these should be taken in first.

The part I do not like, we don't know the back-ground of these Illegals.

I agree with you. First off our borders
here aren't protected enough, the terrorists I'm sure have
a way to get in from all I've seen, if the drug dealers can
build tunnels from one side to the other, they can too. I even
read where they were willing to pay $50,000- or more to get
smuggled in.I don't ever remember reading about this problem 45 years ago. My great grandparents came from
Europe in 1864 , they had to come through Ellis Island and
if you coughed the wrong way, you went back. Here in Santa Fe you see a group of them in front of a church trying
to get illegal work from home owners, one day one ran right infront of my car and I almost hit him, I guess he thought I
was looking for a worker, boy was I pissed off, if I had hit him I would have been in jail and it was his fault for jumping in front of my car !

Domenic -how are the illegals going to pay for the boomers' ss? My understanding is they're not part of our tax system.

Actually, they do pay SS because it's withheld from their paychecks. Many are using false numbers and ID's, but the money is still collected and they can't draw it back out.

Obviously doesn't work for day labor paid cash, but most workers get a check and if the employer doesn't withhold, he gets stuck with it himself.

I read yesterday their thinking of doing a
national ID card, this way they can tell if you
are legal to work. I do know they've had them
in Europe for decades, that's why I can't
understand some people are against them ? I've
had several passports, trust me the Federal Govt.
knows everything about you, so to me it makes
no difference, I welcome it...It probably would
make life easier. I could never understand why
every state in this country had a different drivers
license ? Every driving law across the country is the
same , it's to make the states rich...

My feeling on that one, they scare us about the invading hordes and get people to accept a national number.
Not good.
They've already said we have to buy a passport to get into our own damned country.

In Europe, eveyone has a National ID.
About the only ID Americans have (unless they have a passport) is their Driver's License, and since not everyone has a License, they have no other ID.

There have been many books about getting lost in America. People can come into the country illegally and mix with the population and disappear. If they're stopped for any reason, having no ID is not a problem since it is not required. A credit card with a photo gives identification, but not everyone has a photo credit card.

A National ID provides some control and standardization. It validates the national identity and residence status.

In the UK not everyone has a photo ID.
Not everyone has a passport or a drivers license.

You only get a social security (national insurance) number if you're of an age to start working.
Each person has a national health number but that is only used by the medical profession.
They have yet to introduce ID cards over here.
I am certain despite all the resistance against it, ID cards will eventually be introduced.

Lots of democratic countries don't require national ID.
ALL communist or fascist regimes require it.

when I made the blanket statement about Europe, I was in error.
I do think however that having an ID will help prevent crime.
Having a false ID is the same as having no ID. We see that on this board with people who refuse to identify themselves. They are dishonest. They take what they can and what they give is suspect.
