A wonderful story. I can picture your dad leaping up and running to the next room to turn off a light.

I can relate to your story Phil. We had the modern conveniences, but the light bill was always a sore spot. With both my parents. "Trying to heat the neighborhood?" when a door was left open to the outside was another one. Reminds me of 'born in a barn?'

Al leaves lights on all the time, and I go around turning them off, but he is not as bad as Christy, I think. It sounds like you have your hands full, and I think those asking for a story are on the right track.

Good to save what have to save.
In my childhood there wasn't anything like electric. We had oil lamps and candles. We just head some amazing stories from America where – man could have refrigerator and many else comforts. Now I heard there wasn’t so much everything.
Thanks Phil

Phil,
sounds like an old-fashioned parent.
Seems that's what I do when I visit my daughter and my two grandchildren in the States. I keep turning off lights. Unfortunately, when one opens the pantry door, the light automatically comes on. The problem with that is that they don't close the pantry door.

My grandchildren arrived on Wednesday. Two whole days they are here. More later....
