| Which would you rather have written? A book so perfect that every writer must read it before they seek publication--in fact they have to swear under threat of perjury to have read it and submit to an oral test upon it or a book so interesting that people trample one another to buy it?
The remuneration is a paltry $2000.00 in each case.

| I kind of wish you had worded the interesting book choice another way. The image of people trampling each other to buy anything is very scary. But I woud still go with choice #2 over choice #1. Ann |

| I think I would rather have written the books I did write. |

| Trampling books are more interesting Alice. They can raise your temptations to buy them. |

You should have said--"Mine fit in both categories." |

| I'm partial to trampling. |

| The thing is, when a book is not well-written, the problems become a distraction that interferes with interest. I feel that making it interesting is the first step, and perfecting it, the second. Thinking about making it perfect too soon makes it less interesting in the long run. (My ex once told a group of our friends that I always took a firm stand on everything - squarely straddling the middle of the fence. He meant it as a put-down but I've made it my life's work.) ...... | Good for you, Ann. Hard for anyone to argue with you that way! I think trampling would be good, but if the money is the same, does it really matter? However, I think forcing someone to read it would be a bad thing. Too many would say, "no way am I going to do that!" |

| 2 I've read some really perfect, hold them up and cover them in award symbol books that are really great, and others that were (imho) wretched. Give me a stampede. |

| Neither of the above. I'd prefer one that pays $200,000 rather than $2,000. |

| Dick,
Were you, by chance, the teacher's pet? |

| $2,000?
I agree with Dick that this amount needs to be much higher.

| I like option two, forget about the income a good trampling makes for a good horror movie. |
