| I hope you are all at least half as happy as I am today! I feel like I have emerged from a dark abyss.
Finally, after nearly five years of rather continuous doctoring I feel free---hope it persists.
There is a real correlation between our thoughts and feelings.
The better we feel the easier it is to think positively. |

| Well, Alice, for what it's worth, I agree. Thank God that I am able, most of the time, to keep my attitude positive and I am convinced that when I do I feel much better. |

| Oops! Don, we cross posted. Good to hear that you are in a positive frame of mind. Now, what can I do to spoil that? |

| I try the positive attitude thing, but just when I think things are going well I pass out or have to go to the bathroom a gazillion times in one day.
On the other side of that is that when I think I'm terrible and go to the doctor, he comes in all smiles and says how my blood marker said the cancer in my body has gone from 1300 units to 713 and that is remarkable progress in two months!
And my husband keeps reminding me how well I can walk now, and that is true and it is fun to walk when I found it difficult for months. I do walk funny and slow, though. I am done with therapy and the therapist was very happy. (Either the fact she, my husband and I were successful in curing my swollen feet or that she wouldn't have to see me again.)
I have a fantastic husband, not quite perfect. In spite of a recent hip replacement he helps me over icy curbs and keeps giving me encouragement.
I think my intuition has taken a holiday in the last months, but I think I'm getting it back and that is good!! We just went Christmas shopping and I spent $300 in the local bookstore and the bookstore owner who has sold my other books said she would love to have six of "Now Is Once Upon a Time."
I have come to the conclusion right now that I've just got to let go and let God and once again just surrender to life and enjoy the good stuff and pray I can handle the not so good.

| Add me to the positive list. This time last year, I was house-bound and very low on energy. This year, I have so many holiday decorations in my house, it could be a set for some kind of nightmare on Christmas movie. |

| I am positive and setting things along their merry way 99% of the time, but the last day or so has been frustrating. I am waiting for a shipment of books - a new anthology that I have written a chapter for. All 500 of my books are sitting in customs and we're duking it out over taxes and duty charges. This is where I don't get this whole free trade agreement thing - who is that free for anyway??? BUT, I know that the books WILL be freed from their warehouse, and WILL arrive on my doorstep before the weekend. Whether it's this weekend or another one is the thing I am not actually sure of. If not soon, Montreal is a damned long drive and I'm not sure there is room in my car, but that's where the books are at this moment. Smiling anyway, because that's what I do, and adding a little Santa too... :rendeer: |

| I was sitting alone, sad and weary, and a little voice came to me out of nowhere and said, "Cheer up! Things could be worse". So I cheered up and sure enough things got worse. |

| You people usually boost my spirits if they are low, and make me smile. At the moment, however, I am feeling numb, and trying not to think too much about anything. It's almost 11 p m so the numbness willhelp me sleep!! |

| I am being cheered this morning by reading this board. I am also planning a family get-together with my daughters and their husbands, including my son-in-law, Jim, who is recovering from bone cancer and knee replacement surgery, and is also doing extremely well. My son and daughter-in-law will not be coming down from NJ this year, but that's OK - she is seven months pregnant with my first grandchild, Jennifer Catherine. Buying tiny pink garments to send her has also picked up my spirits. I'm a happy camper! Granny Annie |

The reason we have children is so we can have grandchildren.
What a marvelous situation.
Congratulations` Grannie Ann. |

| Okay, yesterday was the best day I've had in six months. I went out to lunch and Christmas shopping, didn't take a nap, fixed supper and went to bed at a regular normal adult time. Today I feel terrible. We came back home to southern Wisconsin from the north. It is a winter wonderland here. I ache from my head to to my legs. Darn! Hopefully tomorrow will be better. My highlight at the moment is this messageboard. I really like all of you. Carol |

| I just came back from my weekly blood test and when I told the nurse I felt terrific yesterday and terrible today, and told her all I had done yesterday, she looked at me like I should be able to figure this out, that doing too much one day, I would pay the next.
The good thing about today was going to the bookstore with some of my fairy tale books and having people waiting at the counter comment on them. We'll see if they sell them. They'd be great Christmas gifts and the store owner said she'd put up a display. They are on Lulu but not on amazon yet.

I am glad you had a good day--hope it stretches itself out to everyday. Where is your book?
I want it. |

| Alice,
It is on Lulu. My sister-in-law did beautiful artwork. The title is Now Is Once Upon a Time and it is a short book 48 page book of fairy tales I have written over the years.

| Carol, I echo Pam's remark about your title, "Now is once upon a time."
I was thinking that a good slogan for Obama could be: "The new future is now."
Living and thinking in the present makes sense in titles as well. |
