| I forgot to add the description, Ann! here it is: Chisnall Hall Farmhouse: " Farmhouse, probably early 18th century, but incorporating features which may be from the medieval manor house which stood a short distance to the west. The house is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and a concrete tiled roof. It is of a double pile three-bay plan standing to a height of two storeys and attic. The front and rear walls are of strongly contrasting styles: the front is symmetrical and has a round-headed stone doorcase with plain fanlight and keystone along with five boxed sashed windows with glazing bars (a tie bar crosses the facade at door head level, and there are tie plates flanking the door); the rear has stone mullioned and transomed windows, one of 6 lights to the ground floor of the first bay, two matching this at the first floor, and at centre of first floor a stairlight with three vertically diminishing pairs of lights; the ground floor of the third bay has a 3-light stone mullion window."This is the view of the farmhouse from my parents' home: |

| Beautiful. I love old homes. I'll try and post a picture of the home where I lived that Jeb Stewart and his troops stayed on their way to Gettysburg. At that time it was a tavern.
There is so much history attached to old homes and many barns that are on the brink of falling down. Some people will take the time to search the history and take pictures before they go to ruin. It is always good when there is some connection to these homes. In the case of my home, I started a story about our old home and the events leading up to the battle at Gettysburg, but see no commercial value. When I finish, I think it will wind up as a part of my family history journal. |

| http://www.yorkblog.com/cannonball/2009/04/04/in-the-footsteps-of-jeb-stuart-6/ This is the home I lived in. It was owned by my Aunt Ruth. I started school when living in this house and it has many memories. |
