I will add, though, that when a new person joins the forum, I find them more interesting when they at least point us to one publication or something "real" about them.  I am more apt to give credence to the words of a person about whom I know something as opposed to a voice from the darkness of the unknown.  That's just me - (did I borrow that from someone?)

That is what I was saying. The name calling makes me think the person is not real.

Cool it, Domenic. No one here has asked you to prove your credentials as a lawyer. We accept that you are who you say you are. I would like to think you trusted me because of who I am and not because I can supply proof of what I'm capable of.

Shelagh, your proof is all over this forum...besides, you have great legs.

LC's comments have been pretty consistent over time and often informative and helpful.  Again, I disagree often philosophically and politically, but I believe the published textbooks and the education arena.  Beneficial information is shared with other people on this forum as well a questions asked that show an inquisitive mind and a desire to expand knowledge.

I think "name-calling" often results from our words only communication.  Across the table with a cup of coffee, we might approach a discussion a little differently.

Ann,
Just couldn't keep my mouth shut.

Dom,
I had my mouth washed out with soap once (can't even remember why) and my mother slapped me across the face and broke my lip and it bled.  She forgot I had braces.
None of this improves a child, in my opinion.  Why can grown ups do to kids what a boss could never do?

Grown ups should protect kids not torture them.
