| 1/4/2014 Which do you prefer gas, electric cooking ? We'll where I live they have electric and it drives me nuts ! So one day I'm watching TV and I see this informercial for NuWave Cook Counter Top. So I cehck it out , it had great reviews, I checked out the stores online, Khols was $30- over , So went to http:www.gettington.com , I found it for $99.99, so I ordered it, it works fantastic ( Photo enclosed,) I got tired of burning myself on the stove and burning pots, forgetting which is the front and which is the back! I find electric stoves a pain in the rear ! It's electric and you set the temperature from 125 to 500 degrees, the book tells you what temperature for what your cooking, an electric stove for some reason heats up the whole area where the burner is on, on this countertop New Wave it only heats under the pot, it's great and it works great ! | Joe, I had considered a different response - for fun, but then thought it would trigger too much outrage. I'm trying to be nicer this year. |

| I had always used gas until I moved here, but this subdivision is all electric, so I didn/t have a choice. I decided on a glass cooktop. It took me a while to adjust, but I am very happy now. If a pot is cooking too fast, I just slide it off the burner, turn the burner off for a while, and the temp lowers quickly. One of the burners can be set for slow cooking, and works as well as a separate coooker. I do not think I would like a traditional electric burner top, though. My mom had one after we moved into the house Dad built when I was 15. She eventually adjusted to it and cooked some super meals on it. In time it became second nature for her to turn the burner to low heat early on, and only raise it to high for a short time. |

| I wondered about those, Joe. I have a room I had often thought of renting out. I put in a small refrig and a microwave, but some things are just better cooked in a pot. The room backs up to the kitchen so I think putting in a sink would not be too difficult. It was originally plumbed for a hot tub so somewhere is other plumbing too. I wondered if I could put in a small shower and a commode, all without too much expense.
However, I worry about renting a room in my own house. It would have a separate entrance, but the air conditioning is connected to the whole house. It was a porch, though, so maybe I could even separate that!
Anyway, I had thought about that burner. I also thought that in a hurricane a generator only gens so much and perhaps one burner like that would work. However, then I thought a crock pot is even less genning... |

| 12/4/2014 DK.. It uses less electricity than a electric stove, it's conductive heat, the glass top only gets hot under the pot, I've used it three times, Easy to clean, your bottom pots have to ridges on it.

| It looks like a terrific alternative to the traditional electric stoves, Joe. Then again, so do matches, lighters, candles and blow torches. I hate, HATE, H-A-T-E! the blasted things. There is nothing like gas heat for range-top and for ovens, for me at least. All I ever had in several places is the traditional, old electric stoves. On Long island, though, we have gas for cooking and for heat and I am very happy cooking in the tiny kitchen as long as I have gas burners here. |
