The flower photo is great. Re Marilyn Monroe, I don't think you could find 10 people under 70 still interested in her. Maybe I'm wrong.

They know who she is -they don't CARE. Put up a picture of Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus, now THAT they'll care about. lol

There's a jewelry shop in Naples that sells licensed fakes of jewelry worn by royalty and by the stars.  They are high quality fakes, priced around $200 for each piece.  Guess who the most popular three are?  And then, who would be in the top three but her heirs will not license fakes.

I doubt the people buying that jewelry are also buying pictures of the legends to hang on their walls. I also doubt Naples is indicative of sales trends in the rest of the country. For one thing, it skews older. Noticeably older. So if they ARE buying pictures of those legends, that kind of confirms my first post. lol

#1 is Kate Middleton; #2 is Princess Dianna; #3 is Jackie Onassis; #4 is Marilyn Monroe but would be Elizabeth Taylor based on requests but her heirs won't authorize licensed reproductions.  Running sort of even are Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Aniston and classic movie stars.

The average age in Naples is 65.  The median detached home price $1,000,000 though cheaper east of US 41 - my neighborhood :-)

It has dropped back in the most millionaires in the U.S. from #1 to #3.

Fischer Island in Miami is the highest concentration of wealth in the U.S., exceeding Naples in every respect.

All those celebs wear (wore) beautiful jewelry. I can see where there'd be a market for nice copies.

Of course the jewelry store has special lighting... but they were exquisite, especially the tennis bracelets and rings.  What made me think of Joe is the oversize photographs of the people wearing their jewelry decorating the walls of the store.

A local make up artist has a tiny studio - and it's decorated with Joe's type photographs of Ava Gardner, Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Wood, Elizabeth Taylor and some males too - on three walls then the fourth wall is the mirror surrounded by bright lights.  Her goal is for the client to feel they are in the space with the greats getting ready for their own portrait.  She makes individualized make up right there on the spot from pigments and oils and whatever it takes, blending and heating too if needed. Then you buy what you want or just have the make up session.
