| 5/14/2013 I called my Dr. today and pulled strings to get an appointment, the lady calls me back and says there's none , their booked ! Then she says let me call you back, five minutes later at 9:35 AM she says if I can make it for a 10:00 AM appointment, me not thinking said yes, not realizing it's a 20 Min. drive, I was speeding 45 in a 35 zone I made it two minutes to ten, last time I was there anyone who had an appointment had to sign a paper saying if your late you'll be charged, if you don't cancel on time you'll be charged ! I'm getting to think patients are " Cash Cows !" Anyway he told me my chest x-ray showed I have Bronchial Pneumonia ! I have to take the 5 day Z pack Antibiotics again , I took that last time and I forgot your not suppose to drink ! I drink dinner wine with dinner, so no wine for 5 days, let's see if this drug works ! He also told me I have to move back to sea level, the altitude is affecting my heart condition, Santa Fe is 7,500 feet above sea level ! I'm thinking of moving back to New York State......... Cheers Joe |

| Glad it turned out okay, Joe. Take the full treatment. Bronchial Pneumonia has a way of hanging in or coming back. My wife went through that recently. It took several treatments to get rid of it. I think it was partly because she rushed it thinking it was over. |

| Joe, Isn't New York kind of cold for you? Think before you move. |

| The air in NYC isn't exactly the freshest quality, either, Joe. Check out the advice before you act on it. (And another pot of Tinga couldn't hurt, eather.) |

| What Abe and Ann said. Let the antibiotics do their work.
Air quality in NYC is not optimal, though it is not what it once was either. Like Ann, though, I worry about the cold. The air quality upstate is excellent--and on Eastern LI too, for that matter. But the cold--especially upstate--and humidity nearer to the ocean is not optimal for people with lung-related issues. On the upside, there are many places both downstate and upstate that are welcoming to artists, and not just in NYC.
Do some research carefully before making a move. NY is much changed in both positive and negative ways in the past 30 years. When I accepted my new post on Long island, I had no idea of the real changes or of the cost of living differences from what I knew very well 25-30 years ago. But there are affordable hamlets outside of NYC/LI environs. Weather, though, is an issue with very cold winters and a LOT of snow once you go some 70-100 miles North or NW of NYC where there are still wonderful and affordable places to live. |

| 5/14/2013 I was thinking of moving upstate NY , an hour from Albany, I do know the altitude is low....I wouldn't live in the city again after what happened on 9/11, I remember growing up in Bklyn my step-father always said Manhattan was a death trap, no way off............................ Cheers Joe |

| Sorry sister Alice. I'm running off to work and thought your post was Ann's. Of course I am not fussed at you--ever--just confused due to my small, still evolving brain. Joe, always listen to my middle sister Alice. But you don't need me to tell you that. |

| David went to grad school at RPI, in a town just outside Albany, called Troy. It was very, very cold - a drastic change from SA, which would be closer to New Mexico, without the altitude.
Now there's an idea - why not move to SA? The weather right now is delightful - currently 64, with an expected high of 85, and a slight chance of showers.. July and August can get quite hot, but the winters are mild.
Think about it.

| I've been told that Arizona has the perfect climate: warm but low humidity. The light is also great for photographers -- which is why so many live there! |
