NEWS MEDIA-PUBLICITY-KILLERS AND VICTIMS !

I'm so sick and tired of the news media giving publicity to killers !

In a few days the victims will be forgotten by the news media then

their will be a feeding frenzy all about the killer, this goes for the killer

in Colorado or any other mass murder, to me the victims should count

not the killer , what is your opinion ?

It is the nature of the human animal I call it the fascination of the abomination. The media feeds into it to get ratings all the time. That's why the evening news specialized in mayhem, blood and gore to feed the ratings.

People talk about this all the time; but until a way is found to change dna, it seems this fascination with horror will continue.

Agree. The fascination with horror and devastation of all forms makes news and the media thrives on it. Unfortunately I don't think that will change.

I think people are intrigued with what they cannot comprehend.
I hope, for most people it is easier to visualize oneself a victim rather than a perpetrator.
Hence the interest in the heinous man.

I don't blame the media entirely; so long as people buy the products that advertise the shows, the media will give people what they pay for. When a show's ratings plummet, the show is changed or removed.

Once I owned a low power television station for Marco Island, Florida. It was my intention to put on a "good news show" but getting sponsors was impossible. Everyone knew that good news did not sell.

My better half is a wonderful man. He looks great and is even better than he looks.

Love is attractive - those who enjoy a loving marriage are fortunate. My experience is that it takes two people who share common values in addition to mutual attraction. There are many couples who attend my church who have long-term, loving marriages. I think a spiritual orientation may also play a role.

We've slipped the thread a bit; but not entirely. In a time of tragic events, appreciating the loved ones in our own lives is a wake up call. Life is fragile and uncertain. The families and friends who have endured such suffering in Colorado will need comfort from many sources. It's hard to imagine any "good" from this tragic event; but one can always hope.
