Selling well...

I got rights reversions for one of my programming books earlier this year and self-published it for Kindle. Just now, it's #44 among e-books for its subject matter.

I was surprised and happy to see the number. Now if I only knew what it meant.

Well done! As long as it's selling, you're in business!

Go to your Author Central page and then to the sales stats. It will show you how many you sold to attain that ranking.

It does not show my sales. Says zero when I know 10 sold.

Last week--the print copies --I bought them.

I also bought a kindle copy and that did not show either.

The Kindle copy did show. Two copies sold on Kindle, which is more than my book did for the first six months on Kindle. Everything will change on Christmas Day. Only a few days to go!

Alice, is your print version specifically listed? You might want to check and see if you need to add it. I just finished adding A Myth in Action to my author page. I wasn't aware until very recently that such a service existed.

Alice one of your sales is on amazon.co.uk. You need to set up an author's page on the .co.uk site to see the stats. The Kindle book was bought over two weeks ago, click on the "All available" link to see all sales. You should see a peak that represents a sale.

For sales of your books on the .com site, log into your author central account (separate log in to your amazon account), then click on "Sales Information" on the nav bar at the top of the screen. Click on the "8 weeks" link to see all books sold in the last eight weeks. Anything sold more than two months ago will not show up.

To see the Kindle sales, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Living by the Swamp" and then look at the stats for the Kindle format. Click on "All available" and you should see the peaks that signify sales.
