| Let' hope people wake up to the fact that it will take more money to run the country now than it did years ago.
You don't get out of debt by cutting taxes and fighting wars.
I say raise Income taxes by cutting the rate and getting rid of all deductions.
Decrease the military spending.
Tax all income at the same rate.
Collect the taxes that are owed and not paid. |

| I encourage all of you to view this Video. It is timely and says what many of us have been talking about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLMTcyRr5xg |

| Thank you so much, Abe. I haven't time just now to watch the whole thing, but I've bookmarked it to watch this evening. I also bookmarked the video available at the top of the left side of that page at YouTube: The Mythology of Star Wars. I have a full evening to look forward to.
I love Bill Moyers. He introduced my to Joseph Campbell, when he hosted The Power of Myth series on PBS back in the late 80's. That series became the book of the same name, and is the best primer available for learning about comparative mythology.
http://www.amazon.com/Power-Myth-Joseph-Campbell/dp/0385418868
Campbell was a strong influence on George Lucas, and I caught a bit at the beginning of that video, before I bookmarked it and came back here, with Lucas saying that in Star Wars, he was making a conscious effort to recreate the timeless value of mythical stories. As he talked, I felt a kind of kinship, because, in my own small way, I am trying to do something similar with my Redstone character.
It felt very synchronistic.

| Oh, Wow. That's all I can think of to write.
I have just spent the most amazing 2 hours. I first watched the video that Abe recommended above, and heard Bill Moyers do the most fantastic job of elucidating the reality of our current situation, and then, watched him guide George Lucas in an inspiring quest for the causes and answers: Basically, we have lost the guiding mythology that shows us how to be loyal, fair, and compassionate.
Not enough people are telling the stories.
Lucas said one thing that made me think of Betty, with her animal fables, Alice, with her swamp, and Shelagh, with Mr Planemaker,.
He said that it is harder to tell stories for children because kids are more "susceptible to anything that doesn't ring true." He points out that kids are more critical of anything that doesn't make sense to them.
I wish I had copies of the text of both these videos. there was just so much there.
Here is a link, BTW, to the second video, but I suggest watching the other first. It puts the second in context.
Thank you again, Abe. (And now, it's time for me to get back to the Redstone saga and stories.)

| Very interesting and sad situation. We watched Conspirator last night. It was a chilling, true account of injustice in America. |

| I'm currently reading, "Rise to Rebellion" by Jeff Shaara. I see many similarities with today's economic gloom and oppression that contributed to the revolt.
I see our government fighting with itself. The power struggle pits the rich against the poor. So far, the rich is winning, however the poor have what the rich need to remain rich. Deny the rich what they want and they are forced to change. The consumer holds the key. We the people must take back our country. |

| Joe,
The bank is alive and well. Maybe we should invest in it also. |

| I could go for that 6 percent dividend. 'Spose I could throw in a few hundred dollars?
Bankamericard was way ahead of its time. I banked with BofA in the 70's. They screwed up our accounts so bad we swore we would never bank with them again. Then, years later, they went on a buying kick. I was in Melbourne, FL at the time. I started with one bank that was bought by another that was then bought by BofA. It took them 30 years, but they finally got me back by buying up every other bank. |

I believe credit unions are better, I have yet to pay any fees...My bank I dealt with which was local and dated back to 1879 was charging me a $1- extra on top of the ATM Fee of $2.50 , so after 12 years I changed...Oh yes my Credit Union is 63 yrs old...The customers own shares in it.
Cheers..Joe |

4% here. You want me to forego my disability check so you can save $800.00 Here's something else, Alice. You are not considering disproportionate effects. You position $800 as if it's nothing for me to "save." I bet I can use that $800 more than you can use your disability check. I am putting kids through college. Your kids are grown, your money is spent on travel and your grandkids. I prefer you forego that in your zeal to help Obama rather than me forego $800. Social Security is not in trouble now. You are not even paying SS w/w now. I paid it long go. The $800.00 income tax is more like $8000.00. I hope you have to pay it. |

| Old Full-of-shit Warren is really getting deconstructed now. He's been yapping how he pays less taxes than his secretary, but when the WSJ asks him to provide his tax returns so they can see just HOW he pays so little taxes, he evades and obfuscates. Again -what he really wants is for the middle class to pay more taxes, because that's where the money is. His money is fine where it is -in his own pockets, not the government's. |
