I wouldn't mind. I only wear them in public. I like feeling grounded. Ann |

| The "helping the economy" part of not wearing shoes could be nail polish. |

| Went shopping for tonight's family dinner: Rotisserie chicken with collard greens and black-eyed peas, seasoned with smoked pork and garlic; black tomato, red onion, and avocado salad ("black" tomatoes are really a very dark plum color and have an extra-rich flavor); and gluten-free(for Lynn) cornbread from Bob's Red Mill organic mix. I wish I had LC's skill at presentation. Have to get to preparing; will check in later Ann |

| Aaaannnd, mu birthday gift arrived -Lynn and Chris's contribution to the economy. Don't know if I said anything here. A few weeks ago, as I was in the middle of cooking the family dinner, my George Foreman Raster died. - kaput - in the middle of cooking dinner. Fortunately, I realized what had happened, and transferred everything to a corning ware pot and put it in the oven to finish cooking, but I've had that roaster since I first moved to SA in 2002. I found it at the BB&B around the corner from the apartment complex where I lived until my house was built. It was my most prized cooking possession. I had paid $59.99 for it new, and it had served me well. Now, the only similar product GF made was an item that would cost $149.99, and, being a chrome and black monstrocity, would look awful in my kitchen. Fortunately, my kids came through. they found one on ebay, for less than the original price I had paid, and was identical, but brand new: You may recognize it from old pictures of my kitchen. I am such a happy camper. Incidentally, tonight's dinner was well received. Thanks, Shelagh, LC, and Alice for your comments. Ann |

| Ann,
Good deed your kids did. I love Ebay.
We had our carpet cleaned. Our house feels like it is brand new again.
We do not wear shoes in our house and it really saves wear and tear on the carpet. |

| Our new refrigerator. We couldn't have a French door model because they are too tall and wide. Should have closed the cupboard door before I snapped the picture--Oh well I won't make a photography book.

| Surprise! I do buy other things.
I got the first mug and am working on another just like it.
These are Dunoon mugs, 6 inches high, designed by Brookshaw. |

| My blender broke. I'd have liked that $400 one in the link Joe posted, but I settled for this $50 one. Its blades go from top to bottom; they're not just at the bottom. |
