| You have to have the means before you can buy, guys. This is still a have over have-not solution.
I bought groceries. Does that count? Got a Medicare payment coming due later this month. How about that?

I do believe we're making the economy soaring, I shop at the grocery store every other day, helps them...Oh yes in case the ladies would like to know where I bought the ring for my sister- in-law here it is:

| And too many people don't have the money to buy the luxuries, Alice.
Maybe I should have bought a cake instead of that loaf of bread.

| I ordered 1000 sixty gallon clear can liners to solarize my hydroponic stacks. They are really white.
It is beginning to look like a Klan meeting out there.

| I ordered jewelery from a home shopping channel, looked it up online and found out it was made in China. I canceled the order, told them i wouldn't buy anymore stuff made in China. |

| It's very difficult to find anything NOT made in China. I would love to buy goods made here, too. Where are they?
Shelagh- i don't know where they were made. I bought them from Ideeli and a Saks outlet.

| Hmmm? I have to do some thinking about this economy thing. What is economy anyway? I think it’s passing money around, one person to another. Money is paper. So if we pass paper to each other the economy thing is good…right? Now I’m not very smart, so bear with me. This paper they want us to pass around to each other, is suppose to have a value…right? I’m told they take metal from the ground, the yellow stuff they call gold, and the paper is based on how much gold the Government holds. They say most of this metal is in a vault in the center of an Army Base called, Fort Knox. I have been there. I have see the outside of this vault thing. Now we all know Governments tell lies, so some of the stuff they tell us, we call fibbing. This gold, metal stuff they say is in the vault on this Army Base called, Fort Knox, has never been seen by any living person on the planet…so I guess they can say we have any amount in this vault, on the Army Base they call, Fort Know. They wouldn’t fib about a thing like that would they? Hmmm? Not being very smart, I figured I should pass some paper off to the next fellow, so I went out looking for something made in America. I have a list of American companies who make things outside of the country, and still label it, “Made in America.” I’m not smart, but on the other foot, I’m not stupid. I did find something made in America…a water closet…for those who do not know what that is, it’s a toilet. I didn’t buy it. Some how it just didn’t sit right with me. I like keeping my butt private. Anyway, I didn’t pass any paper around…it just seems like a silly thing to do. |

| When you buy a tomato you must look at the little sticker on it if you want to know what country imported it. I wonder if all this stuff that American farmers grow is sold in other countries at a cheaper price than I can get it here. In fact, I cannot get it here in the groceries.
The farm down the road from me (they farm 12,000 acres) does not have their produce in any market that I go to. I do not see their label, even for strawberries that I grow and sell to the packing house under the lable "Classie Berries."
Small farmers like me have to go under a bigger house's name to be included in the great scheme of markets. Not many people achieve that status unless they can prove that they can provide X flats of whatever.
Small is not in.
I can grow so damned much food on this little space that I have, do it all by myself. But, like the jalapenos, unless I can produce, pick, pack in their containers that they charge a lot for, deliver and wait for the money, I am screwed. The small farmer has been eliminated for the market place unless they have bank backing.
Bank backing requires substantial collateral. I am not that rich.
LC, I loved the beautiful tops. With that one you posted, I could float off and hover.
Love,
Betty |

And we now print paper without anything to back it up. When the coffers get low, we just print more. And that's not the worst of it. Most money today isn't printed at all. It's a number in a computer system. The information passes from one computer to another, and the corporations that have the highest numbers in their computers are the wealthiest ones. They have not only sidestepped gold, they have sidestepped paper. Money is now just a computer program. Ann |

| Lynn was telling me, Thursday evening, that platforms are back. These days I don't wear a heel higher than an inch, but I really liked those shoes when they were popular during the 80's.
Isn't it amazing how things always come back?

| If the economy continues to sink, barefoot may become the no budget fashion. |
