| I have good news. Our kids and grandkids are coming for Christmas this year. It is on my mind--I am thinking of how to decorate the tree and house.
It is six months away. Seems like it was just here, but that's okay, I never get tired of Christmas. How about you?

| Didn't this come up last year? I still have an aversion to getting ready for Christmas before Thanksgiving. And I don't do Black Friday, either.
I am not a humbug; I just like to keep things simple and non-commercial.
You guys have fun, though.
Dave and Lyn want me to visit them in NJ, but I have decided to stay home. I don't want to deal with another 3-day flight delay and being diverted to O'Hare Airport. I will visit them when the weather is milder and the air traffic less congested.

| Unfortunately my income dictates that I take black Friday seriously for items I need and others that would make appropriate gifts. The savings are too hard to ignore. I plan carefully. Ace hardware was my favorite because they seemed to have an adequate supply of their black Friday sales merchandise. Staples generally had a good supply also. If there's a line or a 5:00 a.m. shopping call - I'm not there.
I look for presents all year. Other than that, I only decorate a bit for Christmas. Last year I went to a lot of trouble because I thought my friend was coming over with her grandchildren. They didn't show; but I had the decor to enjoy. |

| I'm with Ann when it comes to hearing anything about Christmas until after Thanksgiving.
As for preparations, I'm working on a Children's Christmas story that I want to be ready by September as an ebook. In this case, pre-Christmas preparations are necessary. |

| ANN, JOE, DK AND ABE,
I hear and agree with you all--just thought I'd get a rise out of you and I did.
I'd rather decorate for Christmas in February than go through another political campaign. I am so so sick of it all.
Just me. On Facebook I changed my political setting to" Private business." |

| The best time to buy Christmas decorations and wrapping paper etc ... is right after Christmas. Buy it for the next year.
My favorite holiday is Halloween. Look forward to trick or treating with the grandkids. I just love the entire season of Autumn.
Not planning much for Xmas. It isn't a big holiday for us and my kid will be in Afghanistan anyway. |

| Getting ready for Christmas? Don't rush me. I'm still enjoying the summer. lol
The kid comes back from China next week. Actually, she comes back from Korea. The China classes are over and she's bumming around Seoul and Pusan with some Korean classmates from Nanjing U. Sounds like fun.
My other kid has been working at a nearby theater all summer. They've been giving her lots of shifts, which is great. Keeps her busy and gives her money which gets put in her college fund and her pocket.
I've been working on a project my agent set me on. I've already submitted a proposal for it, and am continuing to work on the assumption that they'll like it and sign it. If they do, I'm gonna buy me a couple of purses. Christmas in July.

| Thanks, Abe! If they do sign my project, then I should be done with it by December. In that case, yes, I'll be looking forward to Christmas. lol |

| JoElle, I love autumn also. Why will your son be in Afghanistan at Christmas? I thought they were coming home now. How lonesome for you. David, Looks like you are ready. |

| Want summer? Come to Texas. We skipped spring and have been in a prolonged drought since early March. 100 degrees+? Nothing unusual. It has been the norm for months now. Come join us. Bring your own water.

| I'm very much a summer person! Business is brisk, and my thoughts are how to sell as much as I can and also enjoy the great weather. I love the results of the gardening that I do in the summer, too.
I'll start thinking of Christmas in the fall. Summer's too short to not enjoy every minute of it! |
