| And so the media pay attention to and waste airtime on the nonsense. But that way they can say, "Well, if the world does come to an end, and humanity is annihilated, no one can say we didn't alert them." |

| We're having fun over this. My wife told me last night that I shouldn't expect any cooked meals after saturday. "Does that mean you're going and I'm staying?" "I'm not going anywhere." "If you relent, I'll take you out for dinner on sunday." "Okay. Make the reservations."
See how easy that was?
On the serious side, when I was a kid, my mother drummed religion into us kids. She talked about the rapture and how those who were not ready would be left behind. I came home from school one day and couldn't find my mother. I checked everywhere and she was gone. I thought she had been raptured. I sat on the floor crying until she walked in the door. It was horrible. Fear is poweful and religion continues to use that tactic to gain converts. They say, "It's best to be ready - just in case it's true." How often have we heard that "just in case" thing? Sounds to me like doubt. Where's the belief/faith? Has anyone recorded the number of times that the end of the world was predicted and/or that the rapture was to take place? And when it doesn't happen, there is always some fabricated explanation. Since the whole thing was a fabrication, another one as coverup is expected. |

| Just another thought. If he (God) is to come as a thief in the night, the religious gun owners better make sure who's calling before shooting. |

| Every day is the last day for someone. The best lesson from all this for me is to live each day well, preferably without malice and with a good portion of love.
Sort of like getting ready for hurricane season. Make an inventory and determine what is the most important to save and what is less important. The same applies to how we live each day.
There was a poem about Jesus coming for a visit unexpectedly and what would He find? It was always thought-provoking to me. My belief is we don't have to be in waiting. The presence of our Creator is always around us |

| DK, Living every day as if it were the last, has a positive and a negative side. The positive side is being kind to your fellow man. The negative side, why should anyone work if tomorrow they won't exist? "Eat, drink and be merry for tommorow we shall die? |

| Well? Under those circumstances, that might be the best thing to do, Abe. One purpose for working is to provide for the future. Of course, when one is following her bliss (or his), one's actions are in alignment with the universe, and they don't feel like work. If we are living in the moment, in attunement to the world around us, it wouldn't matter if this particular materialization we call "the world" ended or not.

| Ann, I don't think anyone will be gone missing unless they want to. Perhaps some will hide in a closet. |

| Most important--if the world were to end today would you be saved?
I think yes.
Why?
Because Jesus died for me.
