| We need more cats in government: Feline control I have a special pussy cat with super special powers he'd often sit an stare at me sometimes for hours and hours. They say it's feline mind control he's made a pshycic link and while he's in control of me I'm not allowed to think. When I'm shopping it's so obvious the felines in control I'm only drawn to certain foods that end up in his bowl. When my wife becomes suspicious and vowes she'll shop alone mysteriously before she leaves she'll loose her mobile phone. Our cat would always sit there waiting beside the bedroom door, wide eyed, purring, ready with an iphone in his paw. It only takes a single look in those bright hypnotic eyes and she declares "oh clever cat I'll get you a suprise". Yes this is about my cat he made me write it.... |

| Mork Ann, Sometimes I wonder if he really is remotely controlling me. Sometimes when I am watching TV he will pop into my head and I will rise and go to the back door and he will be there outside waiting to come in. Cats must be telepathic or at least empathic creatures. His other methods of control are via affection. If I sit in an arm chair with the LapTop he will nudge it off my lap so he can sit in its place. If I work at my desktop PC he will come into the office and jump up onto the keyboard then onto my lap and paw me kitten style and rub my chin with his cheek until I give in and give him some attention.
I've always had some link with animals all my life. I talk to horses, dogs, birds and even spiders. I must be a little crazy in my mature years. |

| Mork sounds like a very cool cat. I had a grandcat at one time named Grizabella who was a lot like that, as is Emmelisa Planemaker's cat, Cosmos.

| Mork sounds just like Cosmos, David! Thanks for the mention, Ann! Anyone who thinks they own a cat had better watch out! |

| My bird doesn't have to mind control me. At 7:00 a.m. she begins her incessant, though lovely, chirping until I meet her demand to put her outside. When I travel with her in the car, she has an unpleasant chirp that lets me know her radio station choices - if she does not like mine, she makes such a racket I have to change it to concentrate on driving. When I don't give her enough attention, she dumps her water dish or food dish to require me to change them. When she's ready to come in at night and I haven't brought her in, she whistles at my neighbor walking her dog who actually comes to my door and rings my bell for my bird so I'll bring her in! When she's sad, she doesn't talk or sing at all. When she is happy, she carried on a conversation with herself using bits and pieces of every word or sound she imitates. Of course, if I want her to talk and impress a friend, she is silent except for "what's up?" which always garners a peanut. Lately, when I pull in the driveway, she has started to call, "Hello" which is what I say to her as I walk past to open the house door (she's on my screened front porch). Of course, the hello impresses me so I stop to give her attention, even to setting down my groceries.
I believe I am quite well trained by this handful of bird in spite of not professing a major affection for animals. I believe my friend who says domesticating animals takes them from their natural environment where they belong to our environment to meet our unmet emotional needs for unconditional love that should be shared with people. However, though I agree with his views, I understand that everyone doesn't have someone and pets are a way to live a longer and more gentle life with at least a warm companion.
What I find disconcerting is the fact that dog owners have no qualms walking their dogs away from their own homes to make their messes in public places and on other people's yards without picking it up. They also take them to "no animals" clearly marked places and let them run free where leashes are required. Then, some people don't properly take other people into consideration regarding the behavior of their children in public places either. |

| Alice, how did you get a picture of me carrying my cat?
DK. I like your bird. I think I'd sing for you too, and say hello (or other things) to get your attention.
David. Your cat is wise. I think he imitates his owner, or is it the other way around? |

| You look like the "tiger" David saw on our patio when he was two years old. It took us a while to figure out what he had actually seen that frightened him so.
If you feel the need to express your inner raccoon, why can't I express my inner Crowe?

| 3/23/2011 It's so true cats are telepathic.. I know in the morning Dusty has to have her small dish of butter. Then she sits in front of window till I pull up the blinds ( Very large living room window which faces the garden) then she let's me know she wants to go out, we go into a routine me picking her up and putting on her harness and leash, she sits on the table growling at me , I think she doesn't like the harness ( she's been wearing one since she was small , she's going to be 11 next month ) I put her outside and I tell her stay near the window where I can see you, she does. After ten minutes or more she comes in , eats, then out again, she jumps on the fence and sits there for a half hour or more checking out the area. Every once in awhile I get up and check her, she looks back at me to make sure I'm there, this goes on all the time she's out. I have to keep getting up from my desk to check her because I want to make sure no big bird may attack her. Finally she decides to come in and gets tangled in a shrub or she makes love to the Miss Kim Lilac bush, I think she smells the flowers before they bud. If I have to go out she tries to beat me to the door and I say no ! When I come back you can go out, sit on your stool, she does, I swear she knows human language.......I love her, she's mine.. Cheers..Joe |
