Quote :
It is a good idea to take responsibility for the things in life that we can control or create. We work so we can feed, clothe, and shelter our loved ones and ourselves. We manifest our dreams and visions in physical form with hard work and forethought. But at a certain point, when have done all that we can, we must let go and allow the universe to take over. This requires trust. It requires a trust that runs deeper than just expecting things to turn out the way we want them to. Sometimes they will, and sometimes they won’t. We develop equanimity and grace as we learn to trust that, with the guiding hand of the universe, life will unfold exactly the way it should. We are engaged in an ongoing relationship with a universe that responds to our thoughts and actions.  (Madisyn Taylor)

Allowing and trusting when we cannot control Empty

An acquaintance of mine was racing to the physician by car while having a diabetes episode. A policeman pulled him over for speeding and wrote a ticket.  He had my acquaintance get out of the car and realized he was ill, also seeing that he had amputations on his foot that was bandaged.  The officer then provided escort for my acquaintance to go to the physician, but left the ticket in tact.

My friend was quite distressed about the ticket he could not afford and went to the court to see what he would have to do to protest it though he was certainly traveling over the speed limit.  The girl looked in the computer and said, "the officer who issued the ticket has already met with the judge and the charges have been dismissed."

Somehow that strikes me as the universe working to unravel a difficult situation.

Last night I was not feeling well and sent an email to a person with whom I was meeting today suggesting I might not make the meeting and I wanted them to know right away.

I received a return email, "would you mind rescheduling to next Friday?  I realized too late that tomorrow is not the best day to meet."  Thank you universe!  I have a free day today :-)

Carl Jung calls it synchronicity.  And Campbell adds that they supposedly happen more often when we "follow our bliss," which basically means we let go and trust.
