| My days are kind of the O-E-Oh kind in this great heat of August in Florida, working toward the new hydorponic crop of strawberries. I do this alone. I could wish for a few people who would do the work for next to nothing, but that is not my way.
My daughter-in-law's mom died around Mother's Day. My daughter-in-law is having a hard time of it, not wanting to let a single thing the old ma had...go. Even her clothes. The old ma was 86. I have in my mind to take her mom's clothing, and make lap blankes with the fabrics. It would be 8 blankets..one for each of her siblings. I would look forward to the doing of it. We shall see.
I have worries.
I worry about our Carol. What a kind person she is!
Thank you all for looking at the stories I post. It makes me feel better.
Love, Betty

| Can we worry about you?
It's not that I don't get it. I've been told that my first sentence was, "I can do it by myself." The other day, I turned 67, and sometimes wish I had been able to accept a little help, every now and again.
We look at your stories because we are as awed by them as by you.
Please look after yourself while you are doing so much.

| Now, when I would willingly accept help, it's not there. Spent the day waiting for a handy person who never showed up. Grrrr.
Take care of yourself, Betty. Time has a way of sneaking up on us with fatigue when we least expect it. |

| Betty, My distinguished gentlemanly father was a man who loved beautiful ties. After he died my mother found a pattern for a quilt scarf to sew and put on the wall. It turned out beautiful and is carefully placed in my mother's cedar chest. Those specialties are so wonderful. When we bought and built our cabin, my oldest daughter took scraps from my mother's scrap box and made a beautiful quilt for the log bed in one of the guest bedrooms. My daughter did not always know where the scraps had come from, and when it was completed it contained wonderful sentimental squares. When she was ten she stepped on a hornet and went into anaphylactic shock. There is a patch of a dress my mother made afterwards that contains bees, just a little reminder of how glad we were all glad she had survived this life threatening event. And then, in treasured places were patches of my bridesmaid dresses. She had no idea. It is a treasure quilt. Sometimes these things happen. I know your quilts will be wonderful. My new condo is filled with treasures from my past. I love all of them. Take care of you. We love you. Carol PS Yesterday at treatment, the medical staff was amazed that a patient could take fewer meds and be healthier. Oh, how life amazes me. |

| Betty, sounds like you need some rest.
Carol, glad to hear you are feeling better. I have made adjustments to my medication and it seems to help. |
