You can do that? Create circular line of text?

Plain ol' Photoshop 7.0 curves text very nicely.

The explanation of their undo strategy is lame. They already have it in the History pane. If they wanted to extend that functionality to the Edit/Undo command, they could.

They just don't want to bother with it or their user interface programmers don't know how to do it.

PostSubject: Re: Photoshop   Photoshop - Page 2 EmptyWed Jun 16, 2010 2:21 pm

Well, I've completed five assignments for this class now, and am having fun with it. This is some impressive software. I have to keep going online, though, to find third-party explanations that the textbook author is skimpy on. Like what, exactly, is the difference between a channel and a layer. And what IS a channel.

I'm having problems getting the magic wand and lasso to work; they keep selecting the whole image instead of just a part of it. I guess I'll figure it out eventually.

A layer is an independently managed graphic component in the image. A block of text, a picture, a background, etc.

A channel is one of the color components that contribute to the rendering of all the layers in the image.

If you are using RGB to create your image, there are three channels, one for red, one for green, and one for blue.

If you are using CMYK, there are four channels, cyan, magenta, yellow, and black.

You can individually manage each channel in various ways. The Index in the Help manual has a list of things you can do with channels.
