Yesterday I went to a flower show, this
is the rose I saw, awesome...

It reminds me of one my dad grew, but I can't remember the name of it.

Loews recently, I have to get
there this week and buy it..It's
gorgeous, I didn't look at the name.

Dear Joe,
Your rose is beautiful. Every time I see a picture of a lone rose, I am reminded of The Little Prince's rose who only had a couple of thorns to defend herself. What a lovely story. We are each unique in all the world. Beautiful photograph, as usual.

Ah Betty, my favorite book, The Little Prince. So much wisdom in so few pages. Do you know that they modernized the translation, and it reads today with less poetic phrases. Now, I have to find one in French to get the original flavor. I also read the autobiography by his wife. It was difficult to get through - but added insights to his The Little Prince.

As to roses, single roses are my favorite. I was married carrying one rose (actually, a symbol from The Little Prince).

When I think of roses, I think of E.Don Harpe's short story in The World Outside My Window, "The Killing Frost." It is a haunting story and excellent writing. I wish he had submitted it for some sort of award for short stories.

I can't grow roses. Or most any flower, actually. I have one hardy hybiscus bush and another frangiopanji that is off on its own, towering above my house and a great hurricane target. I had a crysanthymum that covered 1/4 of the side of my garage in red glory until the last hurricane that gobbled it up - it had grown for years.
