Wow, Shelagh, that is quite a list of credentials. I guess my intelligence just lies in different areas. I never got any degrees. Couldn't sit still that long and too many interests to narrow it down to one field!

I think starting to read at an early age and continuing to read, read, read is where most of my smarts came from. Do they have an organization like Readers Anonymous? Laughing

Love the soccer dude Shelagh! Much of my family is like that when it comes to hockey, but somehow that gene missed me. I am much happier playing a game than watching.

My initials got so long I started playing with them...now I generally only list my favourites the first one, but at some point last year, they all looked like this, which is not that different from you Zada in that I couldn't really decide what I wanted to do...Ph.D., MA, B.Ed, CHRP, CCDP, RRP, RVP, QRST, UVIWXYZ...I made up the last two on my own just to see if anyone notices, and colour me surprised, someone actually did!

Zada you have no idea how wild that is to me, that they have commercials about joint replacements. Two for one? Ladies for just $19999 and guys for just $20000??

Cool

There is no such thing as a "great critic".

You should read my book lin! I think you'll find that the film and theatre critic, F. William D'Arcy, proves your point!

Getting to learn more about each author gives more insight into many of the posts. I congratulate every one on their academic achievements. Like Zada, my kids have received most of the academic accolades. Seems that with each degree much learning was rubbed off on the parent/spouse who became interested in their studies and were often used as sounding boards. Getting a PhD is an achievement with high honor. Regardless of the field of study, it makes a statement about the person's diligence. And for those who apply what was learned goes the greatest honor. My wife was so proud when she could say, "My son, the Doctor." (He got his PhD from Berkeley). My greatest critic is... - Page 2 925501 My greatest critic is... - Page 2 973110

It is neat to see more insight into one another Abe and I too am gald that learning rubs off. I have learned lots from my kids they continue to astound/confound at times!
Wouldn't it be an amazing world if we all used our talents and skills together for good? What a place that would be...although it generally doesn't make for such interesting books, does it? Wink

Interesting books? No. But it certainly makes for great conversation. I am delighted to find that amost of us are so willing to share ideas and thoughts freely without judging one another. Shows we have open minds. In an atmosphere like that, the problems of the world could be solved, I think. Too bad political leaders have such closed minds and ulterior motives!! Twisted Evil

Those interested in a final solution to the critic problem might enjoy my short story, "Deconstructive Criticism" (I'm a John Collier fan)
