This seems to be a case of putting too much faith in money managers.

It's a mystery Kay Scarpetta, the fictional medical examiner and heroine of the hugely successful mystery novels written by Patricia Cornwell, would love to tackle. However, in a plot twist that Cornwell wouldn't dare to conjure up, this mystery is real.

Gone missing is the $40 million personal fortune of Cornwell and her spouse, Staci Gruber, a Harvard neuroscientist.

Especially when they are "taking care" of your money, it seems.

I don't understand it ! If I had that kind
of money it would be in Treasury Notes, CD's, Savings,
Gold, a living trust, at least I would know where it is.
I wouldn't trust investment people...

After seeing so many famous people going bankrupt after earning more in a few years than everyone in my neighborhood does in a lifetime, I think that should a windfall come my way, it will go into a sock.
