| Readers, Black Rose Writing has updated its website. There is now an option to purchase an Autographed Copy of Misanthropy: Book I: The Tower on "The Works" page. You can click the BUY NOW button and pay for the autographed novel via PayPal. In the future, you will be able to purchase any of Reagan Rothe's work as well as the published work from Black Rose Writing's gifted authors. We are also nearing a release date for Catalina Cristescu Geornoiu's Everchanging Seasons. The poetry book will retail for $12.95 and would make a nice addition to any coffee table. More information @ www.blackrosewriting.com on the "Latest News" page. Also drawing closer to a release date is Sword of Eibhlin: A Tale of Love not Lost, by Jack Sorenson, w/ special guest writing from Reagan Rothe. This action-packed, medieval romance novel should hit the shelves with a bang. It is suitable for all ages, but just gritty enough for the more hardcore fiction fans. More information @ www.blackrosewriting.com on the "Latest News" page. The Black Rose Poetry Book is still being put together as well, featuring a collection of great poets. We are hoping to have this poetry book out by Christmas 2008. We have had many submissions, but are still searching for those that fit best and will enhance the poetry piece. As always, we need your poems! Black Rose Writing has been featured on the cover of the PublishedAuthors webpage, http://publishedauthors.ning.com/. Scroll down and there we are... Thank you again for all the support and feedback. Please let us know any of your comments or questions? Sincerely, Public Relations Department Black Rose Writing www.blackrosewriting.com blackrosewriting@hotmail.com |

| Reagan, I am having trouble with your site. On the home page, the font is difficult to read. It may just be my eyes, but the lettering is hard to see. The portal page links won't load for me, either. (The guidelines and templates links.) |

| Zada,
The guidelines and templates should open... they are a .doc file and are opening fine on my two computers.
You might have to save them and then open them with your compatible writing program, but I will look further into it!
Thanks for you feedback. Did you enjoy the website, otherwise? Anything helpful? |

| Reagan, I like the layout and the colors. I just tried to open the templates/guidelines again, and no luck. I'll try to remember to attempt it again tomorrow and see if I have better luck. Perhaps someone else will chime in by then! |

| Reagan, I think it is possible the colors you are using. If people have any kind of vision difficulty, red and green are the colors that create the most problem (color blindess does not often affect every colour; red and green are the big culprits). Red on black is a bit difficult (actually I try to stay away from red on my own site because people associate it with anger and yelling). Although your logo is the lovely black rose that your sister created, you may want to consider contrasting it or complimenting it with other colors to help us old fart writers who can read better from different colors Zada I have run into problems in the past with browser compatibility...if the site is optimized for Explorer and you use Firefox or Flock, you have to try it through Explorer. Hope that may help! Oh dear...I just referred to myself as an old fart. Well I guess if the shoe fits, I'll have to wear it won't I? |

| Oh Reagan you are right; the more we laugh, the lighter we feel and the better life is. And if we cannot laugh at ourselves, well we ought to be able to laugh at and with our friends... Glad you are having fun with it all! |

| I think I am the oldest 'old fart' on this particular thread, so if you youngsters don't want to be 'old farts' you don't have to. Pam is a little young yet, but if she wants to join me on that bench, it's okay. At least we will be good company for each other! We can sit back and watch you kids play!! In the mean time, congrats to you, Reagan. You are doing a fine job. |

| Ah, thank you Shelagh. "They" say age is just a state of mind, and sometimes I'm in a 12 year state, others it's closer to 90!! Hanging around all you young pups will surely keep me closer to 12, though! |

| Zada, Pam, Could you please describe "an old fart?" Afterall this is a writer's forum. Is there any smell attached? |

| Well Abe, the advantage to old farts is that they actually smell very nice. Unlike new farts or just released farts which smell like decomposition, an old fart can refer to someone who is cantankerous or grouchy, however, when it comes to writers who are also old farts, they generally have their tongue in at least one cheek and is a lightly scented floral or perhaps a subtle hint of burberry. The world according to Pam |

| Pam, your definition deserves to be placed on Wikepedia. Just think, "an old fart" by Pam Robertson. |

| Pam's definition is great. However, sometimes people are regarded as 'old farts' when their advice, obsevations or suggestions are often distasteful (or 'stinks') to young people. Older folks just tend to agree. |

| I like the way you think Abe! Maybe the secret to getting it on to wikipedia Shelagh is to have someone "put you in" (someone who has a little notoriety perhaps?) or wait until your book hits the Best Sellers list and they cannot afford to ignore you. I know old fart normally refers to a stinker, Zada, but I like to spice things up a bit, challenge conventional thinking, you know, and play with words...a lot |

| Oh Pam, I don't think the Absolute Write folks would allow me to stay on wiki for long! They love me as much as George Mac does! LOL!
I read this recently on the NEPAT thread on the PAMB:
"There are alternatives to Amazon. I've also taken the Amazon link to my books off of my MySpace. I left the B&N.com. I don't care who you are, I can't stand a bully."
I nearly fell off my chair laughing!
The bullies (or is that bashers? hard to tell the difference) from Absolute Write stomped all over amazon.com leaving false reviews on anything published by PublishAmerica and used the voting buttons to influence readers to stop them buying books published by PA.
It would seem that if you hardly have two pennies (cents) to rub together and a great deal of time on your hands, it's okay to use bullying tactics to stop books by a particular publisher selling on Amazon but it isn't okay if you are a billion dollar industry intent on maximising profits to be able to further extend worldwide. Amazon have recently moved (not literally!) to Swansea and will be providing the area with over a thousand jobs:

| Interesting Shelagh...wonder how many books she is selling if it's not where anyone can find it?? What an eejit. And on that note, has Amazon opened their centre in Swansea yet? The announcement was about a year ago so I am curious. Some of those projects get announced with great enthusiasm, and disappear. We've had a few of them start up here (Dell, Convergys) in areas with a lot of unemployment, receive great rebates from government in order to start up/set up and then they've "closed down" within about 2 years. That's totally off topic and about my history in career development more than writing, but I am curious. |

| Why do we never hear about young farts? Farts with potential to develop as they age?
Just like old whippersnappers are denied the publicity they deserve. |
