Good News

Subject: Good News Wed Sep 23, 2009 6:41 pm

I got good news today. Biopsy came back-- no cancer, or ulcer or infection.

Just inflamed duodenum of unknown cause. I thnnk the cause is known--Creon20 wihich was very expensive and troubled me from the very beginning.

Anyone else take meds that do not agree with them?

Pleased to hear it Alice.

I take 13 pills a day plus a monthly shot of pep juice. I know what two of the pills are for and the rest. . .well, they say take 'em so I take 'em. They all agree with me so why not? The VA practically gives them away so they don't damage the budget. On Sunday morning I fill up my big pill box with 28 compartments (four for each day of the week) and that's all there is to it.

I have some idea of how you feel. My wife had a stomach problem. Couldn't eat or keep things down and was losing lots of weight. Went to the doctor last friday and the doctor, using an ultrasound, said he didn't like the looks of the pancreas. He took blood and it looked normal, but scheduled an MRI for Tuesday. The Angst leading up to tuesday was terrible. Just the remote possibility of Pancreas cancer made the weekend very worrisome. The MRI showed no problem with the pancreas. The stomach ulcer is a welcome relief, and she's dealing with that.

I am so glad she does not have Pancreatic cancer. Few people survive that.

One of those cases where bad news (the ulcer) is good news. I appreciate how stressful it was for you, Abe, and am glad it turned out the way it did.

Abe, waiting for results of tests can be extremely stressful.

I take several pills a day, quite a few less than a year ago when I was taking steroids, an anti-cancer pill, hydrocodone, blood thinners, and a variety of others for annoying medical issues.

Now I take only the anti-cancer pill which so far has been miraculous. I take allergy medicine, tylenol and a blood pressure pill, if needed.

Alice, I am glad you are all right. Abe, I am glad Gisela is all right as well.

Alice this really is good news. So glad that you will now be feeling better.

I just saw this thread. I've been busy trying to complete the Sundown Two book, and now have less than one chapter to go. Hope to get it done tonight.
