| Do you like bald-headed men to grow a long strand of hair and wrap it around to hide their baldness?

| Alice,
No, that's silly.
My son-in-law wears hats a lot. Well, so do I, although my magic formula expensive hair stuff has grown me nice curly grey hair. (I didn't get to pick what color hair it would grow.)

| When Lane's hair begain leaving, he cut it off and wore a hat.
My time with wierd hair was fun, I wore hats and still do. If I could get back all of the hours wasted on my hair, I'd probably have years.
Bald is much more efficient and sanitary |

| My hair isn't so much as thinning, it's more of an avalanche down my back. The older I get the more body hair and the less head hair I have. One good thing is that when it's all gone I'll get a job at the airport as a runway light, hehehe. |

| Marie you are philosophically correct; but chemistry wins out most of the time over character and brains. Money also makes an "attraction" difference.
I was in a local nightclub recently and looked around. Mostly blonds with reworked faces and bodies with men who were not attractive. The women found the money attractive; the men found the physical features of the women attractive. Neither were looking for brains or character. I shouldn't leave out the men with their daughters and the women with their sons....... |

| Bald, broke, and funny. Marie you have impeccable taste. All I need is the pipe and then I've got the character. |

| All the good ones are gone; I left one behind too many years ago to count. I guess having one great love in a lifetime is sufficient. There's always hope for a bonus, though. There are great potential companions available, I'm sure; but they are also looking for great matches. I've some flaws.... My stepmother whose sweet face is no longer on this earth had her last five years with the love of her life, and she passed at 93. He was 100 when he fell; she soon followed him to that unknown hereafter. They had a bonus. It does happen. |

| DK, watch the British show "As Time Goes By." Either that or sing the WWII song, "THEY'RE EITHER TOO YOUNG OR TOO OLD." A third choice, sing that song from Brigadoon: "WHEN I'M NOT NEAR THE ONE I LOVE I LOVE THE ONE I'M NEAR." |

| When I was young, one had to save oneself until marriage. Often the savings bank got too full and there was some spending that ended in a shotgun wedding. The only cause for divorce was adultery until Hollywood came up with “incompatibility” and then changing wives became popular. There were many marriages because of pregnancy where two kids not only didn’t love each other, but also were incompatible. They were told, “you made your bed, now you must lay in it.” Many went through life miserable trying to live up to society’s standards. Marriage vows became meaningless when divorce became common. Today many couples live together before marriage to “try it out.” Too bad one can’t do that with shoes before you buy them. Some were fortunate to have found the perfect mate – a soul mate, but that is rare. I’m told that the second times around things are better. For some it is the third and fourth time around and they still can’t get it right.
I don’t think there is a perfect marriage. Adjustment is required for things to work. That is especially true when marrying someone from another culture or religion. They don’t fit into the family and a choice has to be made. Either support and defend the choice you made or succumb to family pressure that winds up in divorce.
Of course there are other reasons as mentioned on this forum where the mate just leaves. I don’t think anyone should go through life miserable, trying to live up to someone else’s standards. And if you’re waiting and saving yourself for Mr. Right or Miss Right, that bank can get full and will often explode. Life is full of taking chances, but be prepared for adjustments. You can’t have it all your way. |

| I heard about that "saving yourself for marriage" and like most young guys and many young girls thought it was somebody's idea of a joke. Took me three mariages to get it right. It seems to me that if two people no longer want to be together the worst thing in the world is to stay married. It's a lousy atmosphere for kids, too. I'd have no use at all for a person who listened to family and then chose them over wife or husband. Sounds like the jerk in "Kitty Foyle." |

| Bill and I grew up during those times, too. We didn't get married because we had to, though; we got married because we chose to. Our biggest problem, I think, was the roles: Mommy stayed home, kept the house and changed the diapers while Daddy went to work, kept the secretaries, and changed partners.
