| Have any of you checked out this site?
http://www.WiseRep.com
Has anyone actually joined and tried to sell from it? I'd be very interested in knowing your results ... |

| I took a look at the site and clicked on Books. It pulled up 7 books in the fiction category: http://www.wiserep.com/products.php?cat=321 Why would authors want to become wholesalers? |

| I really don't. I'm just always looking for new ways to get the word out there. They make it sound like such an awesome opportunity, but...SEVEN? That's all? Hmmmmm. |

| Talking of opportunities....if you visit www.thebookattic.us not only will they list your book for free, but for the princely sum of $20 you can join their "Park your page program" where you get an author's page, which includes an Author spotlight radio podcast. If you don't have the facility to make your own podcast of an excerpt of your book, the owner of the site will do it for you. |

Well, I do wholesale. To make more money from the book. It's a pain in the neck and really frustrating because the retailer makes more off the book than I do.
Writers need to rewrite the laws of economics. :-) |

| I have signed up with Wise Rep, I paid up front to get started with my credit card. I have not gotten any orders from it yet. I was told I would get 2 free months and an extra month if I signed up right then for something like $185 and $30 a month after that. I just got my credit card bill and they charged me $30!!! I just wrote them to have them credit my money back and cancel me. |

Reminds me of the two good ol' boys who bought a truck and began going to Florida to buy watermelons at a dollar each. They brought them back to Georgia and sold them all for a dollar apiece.
After several trips, one of them says, "You know, we ain't a`making any money. Know what that means?"
"Yep. We need a bigger truck," the other one replied. |

| Reminds me of the counterfeiiters who got drunk one night and turned out a batch of 12 dollar bills. They didn't want to waste them, so they figured they'ed better find a place where people wouldn't know the difference. So they went to Opelousas, Louisiana. They walked into a bar and asked the bartender if he had change for a twelve-dollar bill. The bartender said, "Sure. You want three fours, four threes, or two sixes?" Ann |

| True counterfeiter story: they caught a couple of guys in Texas who were melting down silver dinnerware and casting it into coins! So they were probably only losing about $5 an ounce. |

| Sounds like the two guys in New Zealand who escaped jail and were running down the street while handcuffed together. They were doing fine until they ran around opposite sides of a lamppost. Loved the jokes by Brew and Ann. |

| I got sucked in, I guess when you are new to internet marketing one will try anything. my experience was not good. The tools to build my store did not work proper and they managed to charge me for one month even though I canceled before my 2 free months was up. I guess if I had checked their other stores before I started my own I would never have signed up because everything was a reputition of the same things but in different colors and very cheep.
My experience was negative, but shame on me for believing |

| I joined wiserep thinking I would make some good cash as they supposedly line you up with all these big companies that are going to buy your product. Well guess what that was a LIE! Not only are they never in the office to take your calls after you pay them but they take months to answer your emails. They have a bunch of companies like myself that want to do wholesale with no real buyers. They do have huge companies on their site but they are affiliate links so they get paid everytime you click on their ads. It's a joke! |

| Thanks guys for posting about them. Right before Christmas they were sending me emails and I ignored them. I just received another and was about to give in but thought to google first. I'm glad I found this thread! Thanks also to Jenny for the info about bookattic.com--I'll have to check them out. I've learned (almost the hard way--it was a near miss) to google everything before I do anything--you find out all the bad or good info. It's hard enough funding/marketing your books w/o being cheated everytime you turn around! |
