Dick, you would have loved the idyllic newspaper article I read on the flight back here.

A sixty-three year old woman passed by a group of kids age 11-15 who were kicking their dog.
She stopped and asked them if they would care to have some help with their dog.
The 15 year-old grabbed her by her hair, they siccked the dog on her and the dog bit her arm to the bone.
The dog was in custody the kids were released to their parents.
I thought that was rather strange.

Brings memories of a day when I was on an MP jeep patrol in Germany after being transferred to the military police after the war in Europe ended. We came to a crowd of civilians looking down into a pit. We stopped and found they were watching two boys of 12 or 13 stone another to death. I believe he did survive after we stopped it. The people watching had made no move to do so.
