| I attended a meeting where they were teaching Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. Part of the program was a photo sitting to use in the social networking profiles. This is my result. For some reason, I think my eyes look strange. I was hoping for a photo to use in my new novel, Ghost Orchid, with a fall 2009 release. I'm not sure this is the one. I'm open to opinions. I asked the photographer for more proofs and if he could fix the eyes........for $40/hour he could do anything (that's after already paying for the sitting and this photo). I think I'd rather start over. |

| DK, what can I say. I like it. And I agree with Betty about your eyes. I don't think I'd do anything with it. No need fixing something that doesn't need it. |

| Thanks for the comments. I guess it's hard to judge one's own picture. I think I look scared (which is the truth when a camera is pointed my way!). I'll try it out here for a couple days and then submit it to my publisher for Ghost Orchid. The one they have is one of those smiling heads from my staff ID at school. It's at their web site www.lldreamspell.com under authors D. K. Christi.

| By the way, the www.lldreamspell.com site has some VERY interesting books and anthologies - not your everyday reading in every case. I'm at the edge with Ghost Orchid as it's pretty conservative but laced with the paranormal from a spiritual perspective. This is a leap for me.
Some of the authors have quite a following for their series of mysteries, etc. The anthologies are downright fun to read, true escape. |

| Aha!! Actually, I liked the last avatar you had. There was a romantic air about it! The Dreamspell site is interesting. How do you mean you are on the edge? What do they have normally? |

| Their books are more edgy than I write usually. They write mysteries, fantasies, romance, vampire romances, etc. I'm more into life as it is rather than the more imaginative side. However Ghost Orchid took me in a more imaginative direction than usual. I also wrote a couple romance stories for their Romance of My Dreams anthologies. Again, mine are a bit more conservative, but they fit the genre of the anthology. |

| My mother picked the avatar I was using - it was from a presentation I gave - or rather introduction of some notables. I rather like it too, but not enough eyes for a publication photo perhaps. After testing this one, I will go back to the other avatar for posting as I happen to like that one - not posed or expecting to be photographed. |

| If you decide you want another photo, I used Glamour shots for my head shot. They are all over the USA. Just information for later. |

| Thanks for the good suggestion; your photo is great. The photographer was at the meeting I attended, so it was easy. Going to Glamour shots seems like a time-consuming process, and I just hate the camera. I'll consider that next. |

| You just need a candid shot that catches you when you aren't looking! |

| It was so much fun. They did my hair and makeup and they used drapes (not the kind on the windows *grin*) and it took about an hour and 1/2 total. We laughed and joked and it was such a pleasant experience. I highly recommend it for anybody interested. |

| I like the photo but agree with Zada about the previous one. I don't believe there should be rules about photos with a book other than that they should somewhat agree with the subject. |
