| Do Perfect People bother you?
They drive me nuts--why?
Becasue I am not perfect. I don't look perfect, walk perfect, write perfect--nothing I do is perfect.
The worst part of it is,I don't even care that I am not perfect.
Until I was forty I cared and tried. Then I gave up and life has gotten easier. |

| There is no such thing as a perfect person. Human beings, by design, are not perfect. Thank goodness! |

| I didn't realise that I drived you nuts, Alice. You learn something new every day. |

| First of all, perfection like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Secondly, no one can be perfect from all prospectives. People that think they know everything and people who think their way and only their way is how everyone should live are anoying to me. A lot of times we are faced with situations in which no one way is better or worse than any other. |

Why do you think I was confined to the nut house? |

| Sometimes grandchildren are perfect. Especially when they are babies.

Perfection can be overlooked in grandchildren.
Since grandchildren are the definition of perfection it wouldn't seem too sporting to get ugly about it with them. |

Ah. Shelagh you said "drived" I think that was deliberate. I'm sure it was. I'm with Alice. Nobody's perfect. My english is far from perfect. If anybody here was to know that I look up virtually every word that I write in these forums in my collins gem english dictionary that I keep next to my PC... I don't think they'd even bother browsing my books, let alone buying them |

| I am flawed--so I am perfectly imperfect! But that is how I was made, and I think there may be a plan behind that. |

| I know it sounds trite, but I was taught that we were made in the image of God and therefore, perfect. Since God is beyond comprehension, so is perfection. I always remember sobbing through the night in my 30's about the turn my life had taken, keeping it in the pillow so my six year old son would not hear. The next morning, in beautiful child printing across my mirror, with my best lipstick, I found, "but God loves you, mommy." |

| Once when I purchased a dress the following was on the tag:
The occasional slubs and gentle shadings in this fabric should not be regarded as defects. They are characteristics of the fine yarns which give this fabric its beauty and dramatic texture.
We could change the above in talking about people,
The occasional slubs and gentle shadings in this person should not be regarded as defects. They are characteristic of the fine workmanship which gave this person his/her beauty and dramatic texture.

| Ann, it would seem that everyone's perfections are showing through. DK, that was so touching. Carol, what a great insight. |

| The" perfect people" I have known have been a bit odd. One perfect family had four boys.. the mother had lost it somewhere along the way and could think and speak of nothing but order and cleanliess.
They had a house built. They measured everything and swept the dust out from between the studs before the wall board was installed. They were looking into a santary college for their eldeset son to attend--don't know if they ever found it.
We lost track of them and life has been so much easier without having to listen to them.

Now, I'm a bit odd. This being perfect stuff isn't all it's cracked up to be. |
