| Lin, You obviously know the background to Scientology very well. I was speaking from a general point of view, that many things grow through time which may not be significant at the time of their inceptions. The growth of companies and brands are good examples. Microsoft, Coca Cola and McDonald's all had very humble beginnings, that later became world dominant players... |

| Imagine a world where Hitler was never born. Or a world where John F Kennedy was never assassinated... How different would things be now? We don't have to travel in time to create a different set of imaginary outcomes based on intuition and mental calculation. That is the power of thought. The mind is a wonderful invention, as it does miraculous things. |

| When Hitler was a little boy, he fell in a river. A man saw or heard him and jumped in and made a heroic rescue. What if he hadn't?

| And that is the stuff from which science fiction is born - that's why Star Trek had the prime directive that was passed to Next Generation, etc. :-) |

| Dear Carol, Very small increments of time make up eternity. The wonderful thing about the human mind is that it can percieve these small increments and their relationship to infinity. Being aware of time is just a human thing. Seasons and length of days are an innate time clocks for the vegetation of the earth. When to bloom, when to go into dormancy and animals, too....Bears hibernate and birds migrate all on schedule. I do not think that animals have a concept of time past their own life. I consider that is only a human worry. Sometimes I think that this idea of life going on beyond one's own is really what the Bible speaks of as the "tree of Knowledge." No animal I know thinks about afterlife, or heaven or hell. Love, Betty |

| Betty,
It is always a wonder to me how animals know the stuff they do. How do the sea turtle babies know to head for the sea when they are born. Their mother isn't even there to tell them.
How do the humming birds know when to leave the north and how do they fly across the Gulf of Mexico and know they will reach their winter habitat? How do the animals know what to eat and where?
It is just a mystery to me.
Love, Carol |

| Hitler never being born, JFK not being assonated, The US still being a colony of the UK, and many other posibilities may have all happened in parallel universes. I personally believe in the many worlds intrepretation and if there are an infinite number of parallel universes then all posible events will happen. History will occur in every way it can. Given an infinite number of chances, all posibilities will be realized. |
