Do you like happily ever after?

My novels take place in the Pacific Northwest. Maybe you would like them.

The series is a modern day fairy tale.

I love this thread. Of course, I love you all, too...so I like reading what you have to say... Smile

I write because, without me to put it down, Aunt Piddie Longman wouldn't have a voice. And, believe me...she has a lot to say.

I write because I come from a long line of southern story-tellers. I carry on their legacy.

Most of all...I write because it is fun, fun, fun.

Except the revision part. That is work. Why Write - Page 3 733985

Elf, I would like your books because they are good. I would like them even better if a murder or two took place and elves solved them. Elves would not be the victims. Elves do have detectives, don't they?

There is killing in my novels actually; because there is always bad/good, war/peace, sadness/happiness.

Some of the characters die.

There isn't a murder to solve. However, a new found peace is reached between the elves and a former enemy.

One of the fairies tries to free the animals from the pet shop in the mall. Yeah, she causes a bit of a scene.

Mostly it is fun, magical, and ... different.

Carol,

I agree with you completely.

There is no quesiton that some writers here are better than others.

Some writers are easier to support than others. I love Dick's book--bought 10 of them.

I do wonder why some people are driven to do what they have zero appitude for.

I know a man who wanted to be a salesman. He would fail miserably , but kept on trying.

My mother wanted to sing. She was hearing impaired and tone deaf--why she wasted precious money on singing lessons totally escapes me.

I guess people do what they want to do.

I can't sing but I enjoy listening to all kinds of music. Not sure if my writing is very good or not. I take the compliments and criticisms with a grain of salt. I find it hard to believe you are lazy. You do write and brighten everyones day with your posts and comments. I think when you decide to write a book again it will be done.

The writing task is good for the fingers' training for example to a man like me; I am not writer of any kind - nor want to be, because I am afraid, it is too late to me to mounting and drive by a writing horse.
The writing in general in present days seems been found, to be very popular at large among the every nations and people at any rate.
But what they are writing about? Mostly it seem be love afar and a story lost of it, and even about shopping - and of the everlasting crime that so much all the time grew people attention.

What is the ultimate mission of a writer? That’s the question that remains still open.
One could say that the work of the writers – even greatest of them - what have been showed up during the last twenty years - I cannot find any real novel that would indicate up any great talent been joined into task of writing.
The turning point of one era in which the change could occur have been so quickly and unexpectedly that people couldn’t get along with the total new circumstances.

I agree, Harry. Times have changed and readers have become writers. Fired by their own imaginations, they have found that writing is far more enjoyable than reading. They also believe that there are readers out there who will enjoy reading their outpourings as much as they enjoyed writing them. In every area of life, we see people joining in and doing things badly: on golf courses, karaoke, cd, ipod, video, self-publishing. I don't see anything wrong with this. What I do find odd is the way that self-published/vanity published authors complain and feel aggrieved because no one will buy their books!

It will take time for writers to adjust to the new circumstances. Part of this adjustment will be accepting that not everything that is written is worth reading!
